I posted a week or two ago asking for help in finding an orange roan bitch puppy. Well I have found her - she is a Manchela pup from Somerset and I shall be picking her up in a fortnight when she will be just over 8 weeks old. Thank you to everyone who gave me suggestions & support.
I am now really nervous. It's just like the feeling I had when I was in hospital just having given birth to my eldest son. What on earth am I doing? Who told you you could deal with all this? What if I'm a hopeless mother? What if I can't cope? :o
Someone please tell me this is normal. I have done this before (and actually found the puppy stage plain sailing) so why the cold feet?
But I'm also really excited. Have already bought a couple of toys and have been writing lists of names. Feel like I'm ready to burst!

So glad i was able to help you find your new puppy, cant wait to see some pic's :luv: :luv:

It's totally normal! Puppies take up a lot of time and energy. But they are worth it. And everyone on here is really helpful if you have a question! Don't panic- just keep thinking of names and getting the things you need for the arrival.
Glad you found one by the way- make the most of her while she is little- Dave is 16 weeks and 8kg (not sure this is normal but he isn't fat) he lost his first two teeth today. :luv:
Make sure you post photos when she arrives.

Awww congratulations on finding your perfect puppy :luv:
The nerves are completely normal don't worry. I was almost sick the night before we picked Alfie up wondering what the he** I was letting myself in for and even after we'd brought him home I kept getting 'dizzy spells' in the first couple of weeks where I would think 'oh my god what have I DONE??' !! :005:
It passes though believe me and now I can't imagine my life without my gorgeous boy and of course now I have Tilly as well so it definitely couldn't have been that bad!

Yep, this is totally normal if you are a responsible person! ;) I found the first few weeks very stressful - it is a big responsibility taking on a pup and it would be abnormal not to have some jitters IMO! Still, once you have your pup home you won't have much time to worry anyway - you will be kept occupied being a puppy slave :005:

How lovely that you've found your puppy!! :D
Domino was the fifth dog we have owned over 25 years & I was still apprehensive(but excited) before we got him;I think this is quite a normal reaction! ;)
Don't worry;as soon as you get your puppy settled into your routine you'll find you'll be able to enjoy her.
Prepare yourself now for the broken sleeps!!! :shades:

To me this sounds perfectly normal!! :005:
Our first dog is 18 weeks now and I still need lots of reassurance with what I'm doing. It's probably because you are a responsible owner that's why! Good luck - look forward to seeing some photos soon ;)

congratulations on finding your new baby :luv: I was excited and beside myself with worry that I was going to be a good "Mummy" when we got Maddy, even though I had previously had Choccy a very large lab before.
She is smaller in size but not in character, now we have "relaxed" into each other after those first few "scary" weeks it is fantastic.
Good Luck you will be fine, think of all those lovely cocker kisses about to come your way :luv:
