For the past day and a half loki has had really squishy (fr want of a better word) poos and been farting like crazy (and they stink!) nothing has changed diet wise apart from upping the amount of food (I checked the reccomended feed for his weight and have started adding a bit more) Should I go to the vets? He seems totally normal otherwise (except not eating all his food yesterday) he is comign up to 7 months old and his testicles have started do descend so could it be a hormonal thing? Any ideas?

Maybe it's just a little too much food. I know the way dog food is labeled here in the US, if I fed the amounts they recommend my dogs wouldn't be able to walk for all the fat! ph34r
At least try cutting him back to the amount you were feeding for a couple of days and see if that doesn't clear up the problem.

The Burns Pet Nutrition website includes some fairly comprehensive articles about the short and long term implications of over-feeding even a good quality food:

I don't agree with all of it, but there seems to be a lot of sense in the principles that are explained in the various articles about overfeeding and the effect on health ;)

He is still on lessthan what is recommended for his weight but it just seemed too much for him when I weighed it out (plus he is tad smaller than some of the other cockerswe have met. hmmnn gonna try giving him a little less than what I have and see how he goes maybe give the vet a call if he doesnt settle in a day or so (providing he seems ok otherwise)

I know for a fact if you overfeed Burns it does, which is why I stopped the Burns (there wasn't enough bulk for my two)

I had a bout of the squirts here a couple of weeks ago . It started with Max , the vet thought he may have eaten something nasty , but it slowly spread to the other 4 1 by 1 .No amount of bleached floors stopped them passing it on so I had to wait it out . I found that it lasted a couple of days with each of them .It must have been a virus ??

Just got back from our walk and all is normal >:( The only thing I can think of is that he got fed an hour later last night than normal
