since yesterday meg seems to have had a bit of a limp with her right foot, iv got up today and she isnt limping as much but you can still tell shes holding it stiff, she isnt in pain or yelping with it and iv checked her paws and theres nothing wrong there from what i can see, iv pressed along her leg and hips etc and she doesnt yelp in pain or anything, i dont no whether to give it another day before i go to vets or should i get her seen, she does jump from things and dives around like a loon, so thought she may have just sprained it or something.

I know Milly limped like this once with nothing obviously wrong. Left it a day or two because she didn't seem to be too bothered and it went away. Mentioned it to vet next time we went and he said it might have been a sting :-\ If it had gone on any longer would definitely had gone to vet though.

meg still limping a little and couldnt get off bed this morning, taken her for a walk and shes still walking funny but not limping badly, iv looked at her paws and felt her leg and she doesnt seem to be too bothered she just licks my hand, shes not crying out or anything. think i will see how she goes for a couple more days then go to the vets if shes still limping

hi, how long should i leave it before i take meg to the vets, shes still limping but now and again looks ok with her leg and just walks with it a little stiff, she was running about earlier with just a slight limp, she doesnt yelp or cry out in any pain when i look at her paws, feet or leg, could it be just a sprain, should i carry on taking her for walks or cut back on them? any one any ideas

Hi. There are lots of people on this forum who know more about dogs than me and hopefully they will reply but i think I would err on the side of caution and take her to the vets if she seems to be showing signs of stiffness as well as limping. Good luck

Hi, im off to the vets at 11 to have meg checked out, as she is still limping and seems a bit down in the dumps, OH kept telling me to leave it a few more days, but im a bit on edge so im going to ghave her checked out.
-
Hope everything goes ok at the Vets.
My other half always says leave it a couple more days and he is normally always right but it puts MY mind at rest to get it checked out and I am sure it will for you.
Let us know how you get on.

just got back from vets, meg has done something to her ligament, she found it very painful when he was examining her as he was pressing on very hard! :'(
he said its not moving as well as it should either. hes put her on metacam oral suspspension and iv to go back next friday so he can check her, if alls not better next week they may have to take her in and sedate her and then maybe operate if no better, bu hopefully it should clear up by next week. fingers crossed.
iv to keep her on the lead aswell when walking and try to keep her a litte calm at home....not an easy task!. my poor litte girl was shaking like mad when we got there, it was only the other week i was there because she was being sick all time, i think she well and truly hates the place now ph34r

I am sure she will be better by next week - fingers crossed also
I know keeping her calm won't be easy but just do the best you can.
Hugs to you both x

I hope she gets back to her normal self soon.

Poor Meg. Hope she recovers without the need for surgery.
-
hugs for meg hope shes better soon.

Daisy had exactly the same. She was walking fine but had a little bit of a 'drop' on the one side as she walked/trotted, I checked her over and could not see anything obvious, so after a couple of days I took her to the vets. They put her on Metacam and it took about 4 to 5 days for there to be any improvement, and then she was fine. I kept her on lead walks whilst she was on the Metacam.
I was worried sick wondering what was wrong with her. Luckily, the Metacam did the trick.
I hope Meg's limp is improving with the Metacam. Let us know how she is getting on.

megs limp seems to have disappeared for the time being, so the metacam may have done the trick, either that or meg was faking it, and hoping maybe she would get a toy from the vets! thats 2 visits to the vets this month, OH thinks i over react with the slightest thing thats wrong with meg, maybe sometimes hes right, but id rather her be 100% and get checked out.
so hopefully vet will be impressed on friday with the recovery shes made so far!... the little monkey

Glad to hear that. :D

Hi
I am the same with Charlie, I am so anxious my OH says I should ask the vet for his mobile number. Glad to hear Meg is better.

Glad to hear Meg is better. What these little cockers put us through eh?
We took Mollie and Daisy on a lovely walk on Saturday for Mollie's 2nd Birthday. They both had a lovely time, but Sunday morning, Daisy was lame again on her front right leg. So I gave her rest of the Metacam I had left and only lead walked her for a couple of days and she seems better now. :D

meg went to vets again today so he could check her leg, seems her crucial ligament is a little abnormal anyway, so she may need an operation later her in her life if it causes a major problem but just got to keep an eye on her and if she starts limping again go back, but shes ok for now. :luv:

Meg had her hair cut yesterday and my friends the groomer and has 3 cockers, they all had lovely shiny coats and megs was quite dull compared to theirs and her skin in quite flaky, the groomer recommended eveining primrose oil in her food, would this be ok for her? iv never thought of giving her anything like, how often would you give it? and is it the best thing for this, i wondered if there was anything that could be good for her coat and maybe her joints/ligaments aswell after the problems iv had with her limping?
