I didn't believe it was possible to agonize over something so much but I have. However, I have decided to go ahead as I really believe the benefits outweigh the risks. I know, once again, that Chloe has played a big part is making me so irrational about all this. During her AIHA years, there wasn't a time when she went to the vets that I didn't worry she wouldn't come back out again and a couple of times she nearly didn't. Kali is different I know but it is hard to shift that feeling of dread, especially knowing that even for a healthy dog it may all go pear shaped :'( It hasn't been an easy decision, bit like a rock and a hard place and even now I am wondering if I am doing right by her. She is my little baby and it scares me to death to make decisions like this for her. Please if you can, say a little prayer for her tomorrow.

IMO I think you have made the right choice, but it doesn't stop you worrying about your little baby.
Got everything crossed that everything goes smoothly tomorrow (which I am sure it will).
Lots of healing thoughts from me and cocker kisses from woofie and maddie xx

I'll be thinking of Kali tomorrow, and you Sheryl. Hope she recovers really well, I've heard some girls are back to their bouncy selves even as soon as the day after, hope that's true for Kali. :luv:

Monty added he wants to give her big squidges, lots of fluffly-legged cuddles and hundreds of the wettest, juiciest french kisses (it's his new trick) tonight and to hold her paw tomorrow and then the very gentlest of squidges all the time she recovers :luv: . He stole my credit card today and has booked two flights 'oop norf' leaving in half an hour...his bags are packed if he's allowed to visit!! xx

Oh Sheryl, I was in your shoes less than two weeks ago, and even with the drama of Poppy's phantom pregnancy... ph34r I'm so glad that she has been spayed.
We'll be thinking you and Kali tomorrow and we'll have everything crossed for a safe op and a very speedy recovery... :luv: :luv:

Thank you to everyone who is going to think about Kali tomorrow. I am sure the power of positive thinking works, just wish I could scrape some together myself. I feel absolutely sick to my stomach :'( I have absolutely no idea how I am going to get through tomorrow or sleep tonight for that matter :-\.

I think you've made the right decision, but it sure doesn't ease the worry, does it :-\ Try to find something to do to distract yourself, and maybe take some rescue remedy for yourself and give some to Kali.

Kali baby girl, it's Tuesday and I've been thinking about you for 57minutes of today already...and I'll continue to for the next 23 hours and 3 minutes! Be a big brave girl for your Mum today and give her plenty of cocker kisses when she comes to collect you-I think she may need them. All my love little one :luv:

Just dropped her off. Another vet checked her for a phantom pregnancy because her nipples were swollen. She isn't producing milk though so he says it is ok. Her nipples haven't really gone down since her season :-\ I told Grace to take care of her because she is my baby (as if she didn't know) and went to go. Kali went to follow me, found she couldn't. She cried, I cried. What a scene :'( I have to phone at around 1pm so fingers crossed.

Her nipples haven't really gone down since her season :-\
Holly had exactly the same problem and I was told that the spaying really was the right thing to do in this case.
It'll soon be 1pm and you'll have it all behind you. ;) :D

You are not going to believe this. After all that poking and prodding of her nipples beforehand, when she was under GA they found milk so she is having a phantom pregnancy :'( How the hell didn't I notice anything? Her nipples have been swollen like that since she had her season and she is acting no different. Have to go get her soon and re-schedule I guess. All that heartbreak and now I have to through it again :-\

Just read this Sheryl, I think Kali has other plans about this op. :D At least the phantom pregnancy was detected before they started surgery, but shame she was anaethetised before they realised, but at least you know they are being very careful with her. :luv:

Bless her little cotton socks...!! :luv: It just wasn't meant to happen today, she'd decided she wanted to spend the day with her Mum as she has been upset about something for the past couple of days and Kali knew only she could make it better!!!
Monty wants it made clear for the record that if it turns out to not be a phantom pregnancy...it wasn't his fault, someone told him you can't get a girl pregnant over the internet!! How was he to know any different he's only a pup!!! :005:

Just to say she is home. A bit woozy but ok for the most part. Now we have to do this all over again next Tuesday. Thank you for all your support, you have no idea how much it helped. See you next week ::)
