Title: Anyone tried 'ocean bites'-puppy looking great!
Post by: sabrino on August 09, 2007, 05:00:48 PM
Has anyone tried these, ocean bites. We've been giving one or two to Milo each day and I have to say his coat is looking amazing! He was never really scurfy but got a little dry skin on his snout, that has all cleared up and like I said his coat shimmers gold! I've bought the sea-jerkies which are just squares of baked fish skin. I bought the small-sized ones which are meant to be used as training treats but tbh they are quite big so would def not bother with the bigger sized ones for a cocker.

Yep mine love them. They also used to love the Aqua Snacks but they've been discontinued.

I bought some as I have heard great things about them but Coco won't eat them  >:(  Even my cats didn't fancy them so they went in the bag of rejected treats that I sent to Many Tears  :-\

Mine love all things fishy.  :005:  Their particular favourite is the fish 4 dogs, red fish rolls, but they love the sea biscuits and sea jerky and the burns ones too.   :D

I bought some recently for Fern and was shocked by the size not to mention the smell  ph34r - she really enjoyed the first one, but is not so sure now - she's had three so far this week and her coat looks lovely so I hope she hasn't gone off them!

Michelle,

Just done a google search and it's Burn's.  I thought I had seen ones made by Burns, but just had a wee doubt in my mind!

Need to try and get some!

Mine both love them and have the rolls and the squares. They get fresh whole mackeral (heads and all) twice a week as well and it's one of their fave meals (can't say the smell of fresh mackeral on their chops is great though... ).

Thanks for the info I will give them a try-I'm sure they can't  smell worse than the black tripe stuff   1 of my Cockers is inclined to have dry skin and has special shampoo to be used twice a week so maybe this will help :P

If you have a go at making the tuna bread from the itsaspringthing site, (you can replace the tuna with a tin of pilchards in tomato sauce for a change) when you have taken it out of the microwave, turn the oven on, cut the tuna bread up into suitable sized pieces then put them on a baking tray in the oven and leave them on a low heat for a couple of hours, turn the oven off, leave the oven door open slightly and leave in there overnight.  These are just as good as the bought ones (probably better), cost a fraction of the price and if you put them in an airtight container they will keep for months.   :D

Went to try to get Ocean bites yesterday and failed to find any in any of the local pet shops, could only find Sea Jerky.

Is the Jerky bigger pieces than the Ocean bites - the boys love the jerky but thought it was a bit big as a treat for Heidi though I suppose I could try chopping them up?
