Title: Solid coat... Inbred??
Post by: hils on October 19, 2007, 11:59:09 AM
Please could someone enlighten me on this.....

I have been told that the solid colour cockers are more inbred to gain a solid coat... is this true at all?

Nope, not true if you're talking solids generally. You might however see more close breeding in the less common colours (eg liver, liver and tan) since there is a small gene pool for these colours so the same dogs do tend to crop up over and over again in pedigrees (show-type ones anyway)
