Title: Bliss and her first walk
Post by: burfi32 on November 19, 2007, 03:17:25 PM
Hi everyone, just an update on Bliss, she went for her first walk yesterday, she just went up to school with me to collect kids,  its not very far but she definately does not like cars, tried to jump in a bush, when we got to school  we got mobbed by kids, which she did like. Also took her to the park , took her off lead and she was brill, stuck to me like glue, we had a bit of a play until a few dogs came up to say hello, she absolutely cried like i have never heard before, you would think we were beating her, so i think she is quite timid when it comes to other dogs. All in all she did well and i was very proud of my beautiful puppy.

Welll done Bliss, we are looking forward to going out for our first walk with Zara on Saturday and hope that she is as good as Bliss. What I have been doing is wandering up and down our street with Zara in my arms (she is getting heavier by the day) she enjoys this and soaks up the sights and sounds as we are walking along. I am sure that Bliss will get used to the cars if you continue taking her to do the school pick up, she will get used to walking along a road with cars. Good luck anyway :D

Sounds like you're both having fun - we have another weeks to wait before we can take our pup out...can't wait!!!!

One word of caution to all new pup owners though, when our last dog was a pup I used to let her off the lead in the park and she too stuck to me like glue - but one day a car backfired and she bolted, the poor thing was scared witless.  She ran straight out the gate as someone was coming in and across a main road.  Luckily someone caught her and she was unhurt by the whole thing. But I still have nightmares as to what may have happened.

Well done Bliss! Murphy used to do the "help I'm being beaten up" scream too. Then he also did the play with everyone he meets thing and now he's getting to the "what mummy has in her pocket is far better than jumping at everyone" stage, at last!
