Quick question to the board - my nearly-one-year-old has what looks like brown pigmentation in a line above her teeth (and below in bottom teeth) - the rest of her gums look regular colour. There is no swelling and no bad breath. Her lips are all very dark too - but then I'm guessing thats cos she's black in colour anyway?
Is this pigmentation normal?

My blue roans have black splotches on their gums, but i'm wondering if the brown line you are describing is tartar on the teeth?

Gums are never all pink, they always have brown/black bits. If she's always been like that then its probably normal. If her teeth are white, no bad breath and no signs of anything bad then I wouldnt worry. :D

Yip brown bits on some gums here :D

Lots on billys! Especially his lower gums

Def only on her gums, her teeth are all shiny white, right to the gum line (and long may that continue!)
Thanks for the reassurance!
