I took Braan to vets for 10am and am still waiting for the phone call :'(
When Fern went in I got a phone call by 11.30am and told I could collect her just before 1pm
:'( :'( :'( :'(
-
Oh poor you.
I completely understand how you feel.
My vets did this last time Meg was in for a grass seed. They didn't ring when they said, turned out Nicky (vet) had had to deal with an emergency for another animal.
-
:'( Oh dear poor you. Our vets has surgeries from 8am - 3pm and they ring you after 3pm when all the surgeries are done. Don't worry, if there had been a problem they would have rung you straight away. :-*
-
It's horrible waiting isn't it, when Petal had her cataract done we were told she was going to be operated on at 8am......didn't hear anything all day and we were frantic with worry, ends up she was LAST on his list as she had a complicated cataract and he didn't want to do the op then get called back in if need be......we finally got the call at 7.30PM after dropping her off at 7AM.
I'm sure you'll hear soon.
-
Horrid feeling :'( Dont worry though he will be abs fine :luv: :-*
-
Dont worry (easier said than done) your clock must seem as thou its going backwards.
:-*
-
Thanks everyone
I just seem to be wasting the whole day can't concentrate on anything :-\
Just gonna have a cuppa and then take the other two out - Miss Fernie is definately missing him :luv:

How right you are about the clock going back wards :lol2:
That's it a quick walk now with the other two - OH is here so he'll be by the phone and I'll have my mobile on me
-
I know sometimes, emergencies come in and routine ops have to wait. Don't fret doll, he will be fine
-
I so understand how you are feeling. But it's like the others have said; either last on list or something else has come in.
Hope you hear soon and that he's fine.
-
I'm naughty as soon as I start to worry I phone them... most don't normally mind they get lots of worried pet owners... you've held out longer than me. I hope everything is ok.
-
I must have missed this. What's the wee man in for?

Ours vets usually ask us to ring at 3pm and then they give a time for us to collect, so this is normal for us and I guess you having to wait around is not normal for you - I really feel for you. I was biting my nails all day yesterday when my puss was in. Feeling for you hun :-*
-
I always ring my vet's ahead of time... They don't seem to mind.
-
Got phone call about half 3 and he's home
He looks very sorry for himself poor wee mite
-
ahhhhhhhh, poor thing he is gonna be sore
I can't help reading yout posts and laughing even when they are sad, it is Mutley that does it!!!!! :005:

-
Aw, hope he's feeling better soon :luv:
-
Ahh bless him, lots of TLC me's think...and a cold flannel :shades: :luv:
-
Give him lots of cuddles and he'll soon be right as rain.
-
Awww wee man :luv: Wont be long till he is bouncing around again :shades:
-
Thanks guys
He is curled up with one of the boys, at the mo without the buster collar so we are keeping close eye on him as he has gone for them already ::)
He hates the buster collar with a vengence and think he is scared of it
I feel such a bad mummy :'(
-
Your definitely not a bad Mummy. It is for his own good that you decided to do this and you'll know that it was the right thing to do as soon as he is back to normal.
And he will soon put the whole affair from his mind I'm sure.
-

Has your OH got an old pair of boxer shorts, you could try those instead of using the buster collar. ;)
Hope you're feeling better soon Braan. :bigarmhug:
-
I'll give the boxers ago Michelle Thanks (and tough i don't care if they old or brand new ones ph34r :005: )
I'm staying up half the night with Braan and as I have to work tomorrow OH is going to do the second half of the night (Thankfully OH is on holiday, and meant to be doing the back garden but the weather not playing ball - hence I phoned vets on Tuesday to get Braan booked in )
-
Glad he's home, hopefully you can avoid the collar if one of you is around to watch him anyway, got to make him happier. ;)
-
Aww bless, give the little fella a gentle hug from me :luv:
-
Aw, glad he's home safe. Give him a little bit of scrambled egg later on tonight, and lots of tlc - he'll be back to his old self tomorrow as if nothing's happened! :D
Did the vet give you painkillers and show you how to check his wound?
-
Glad he's home and all is well :-*

He's had his normal tea :shades:
No didn't get any pain killers or shown how to check the wound - just told to call if I needed anything or if I'm worried at all
-
If his anaesthetic was early enough today, his normal tea would have been fine, he wouldn't have eaten it if he's felt sick anyway!
When checking the wound, you're just looking to see if there's any inflammation at all, if it looks more raised and red, then your vet can give him antibiotics, but it should probably heal up quickly. :D
Most dogs don't even seem to notice they've had an operation! :lol2:
-
Hamish had his 2 weeks ago, felt sorry for himself the first night and never looked back since.
We had no problems with his wound and was a star when he got his stitches removed on Monday
Good luck, hope it is just as smooth for your wee man
-
Awe ((hugs)) from me and Sam! :-*

Glad all went well for Hamish
Braan just won't give in - he's still trying to fight the need to sleep off the anesthetic - I'm just hoping he will eventually settle and sleep
-
I'm glad he is home and ok. He will settle eventually, I am sure.
By tomorrow he should be fine, unless he was done quite late and/or if he's milking it!
-
Last night wasn't too bad
This morning tho it's constant watch, as his teeth are so sharp, that he doesn't go for his stitches
I hated putting the buster collar on him but think it's gonna be the only way OH is gonna get anything at all done today
ph34r I'm off to work and :embarassed: to say I'm quiet glad as I hate seeing him trying to get to his stitches
-
UpDated
Well Braan has decided he doesn't want to go back to vets to have his stitches out :shades:
On the night of day 5 he took two stitches out and I took him to vets on day 6 - vets says he looks fine but we'll leave the other 2 stitches till next week :shades:
:005: Braan had other ideas and took these out on the night of day 6 - thankfully he is OK :D
Wonder if vet will give me a reduced rate as he doesn't have to take the stitches out???
