Paisley is now on day 11 of her first season. Yesterday when I came home from work she'd wee'd on the kitchen floor, when I got up this morning, she'd again wee'd on the kitchen floor. When OH just went home to let them out on his lunch break she wee'd right in front of him in the dining room! He said it wasnt because she was really excited either (she sometimes has little accidents when she's over excited), he said she just squatted and did a big wee!?
Is this normal during a season? Her wee is also REALLY smelly!
I've heard of something called pyometra which can happen after a season, so I'm worried this might be something to do with that?!

Hi Becky,
I don't know if this is normal during seasons, but I do know that the only times my Tilly has weed in the house (after puppyhood) was when she was in season. She did it a couple of times on her bed and seemed very surprised and a bit confused. She never did it more than once during a season though. Could your girl maybe have a bit of a urinary infection that is causing her to wee, rather than it being her season? I would be suspicious of this, particularly as the wee is smelly. Maybe a trip to the vet to set your mind at rest? Hope you are successful in taking a sample - not easy :005:

Hope she is OK Becky :-*

My Rosie had her 1st season a while ago,she started weeing too, I even took a sample to the vet to check for infection but she was fine. :luv:
My vet said it is not unusal and after her season finished she 'is dry as a bone'
You could pop a sample along to the vet if your worried. I seem to remember my other cocked slipped backwards too during for season :-\

It's common for bitches to urinate more frequently when in season - they scent mark to make males aware that they are ready, able and willing.

Yep agree with colin the bitch marks her territory like males do during season sometimes inside house. :luv:

She is doing lots of little wee's all over the garden so I thought it might be something to do with scenting!
I'll keep my eye on her and if she keeps doing it then I'll "try" to get a sample to the vet!

Hi there, sorry to hear Paisley is weeing during her season.....she is about bang on ready to mate now and I think as everyone else does this is a scent marking exercise.
I note your concerns about pyometra - if a bitch gets this, its about 5 weeks AFTER her season has ended so don't worry. Its unlikely she'll get it but be aware of the condition ok. You will know if shes ill and there would be a pus/blood type discharge coming from the vulva.
Good luck - the joy of owning bitches..........!! :005: Let us know how Paisley is?

She wee'd again in the kitchen during the night :'( and has been peeing a LOT in the garden! She seems ok in herself though, a little sleepy and a bit hot and bothered! She must be boiling in all that black fur!
I cant wait until it's all over so we can take her back out for walks and leave the cat flap open for her so she can have access to the garden when she needs it!
