After all my agonising about changing and then after, my surprise at how great this new vets were, I am still finding things I like. Not only do they always ask after your dogs (even if you are just in to pay a bill) but more recently they have also:-
Not charged me for an impromptu urine sample that I rushed in with when I thought Kali had an infection.
Did not bat an eyelid when I said that I was going to do raw natural feeding.
Tried to get me Milbemax and when they couldn't get small enough quantities, wrote me a prescription for use online and charged me nothing.
Kali's vet Nicola (and the receptionist Sheila who is cocker mad) made me solemnly promise not to bring Lyla in until the 8th August when they are both on duty :005:
I am so happy with this surgery. Just shows that even if you have been with your vets for 20 years, you can always change!

I agree, it is so important to find a vet that you are happy with and feel confident. I am very lucky too to have excellent vets! It is worth the trouble to go looking for them. :D

I agree totally Sheryl.
You know I had issues with my vet of 11yrs, we have just moved last week and I have to say the difference was amazing. :D We had a specialist appointment within less than 24 hrs, who can argue with that. :shades: To make things even better they were a lot cheaper than my vets too. I thought there must be standardised prices, but obviously not.
I am happy that if I have any concerns over Alfies health I can now trust the vet, which I havnt for a long time now. I agonised about changing, not wanting to cause offence to the old vet ::) I dont know why really, he wasnt very pleasant to my Alf at 8 weeks old. :-\

It is definitely important to be confident in your vet and at the end of the day it is a service that we are paying for so we have every right to change if we want to. I've been with the same vet for nearly 3 years and i can't make my mind up  One vet is lovely but the other is an ex army vet and can seem a bit heartless. When Eric couldn't pee after his castration last week I saw the lady vet who I had never seen before and I loved her so I might just request we see her in the future. Also the VN's and receptionists are lovely.

>:D >:D Your vet is too far away from me - I'm jealous :embarassed:
I think your vets sounds great :D shame there aren't more of them around

Thats brilliant Sheryl! Really pleased
Its so important to have a vet you like and trust.
Our is absolutely lovely and so are the vet nurses and it makes such a difference

Sheryl you right a vet you can trust makes everything much easier we noticed a difference with Floopy, he had his second appointment with our new vet yesterday and although it was a different girl from last week she was great with him which in turn made him a lot calmer and made me feel a lot less stressed. :D

Agree completely :D we switched nearly a year ago to one in methlick and they are brilliant, the receptionists are soooo much better than at the previous practice, they actually give you some confidence about the abilities of the practice - and again no comments made when raw feeding is mentioned ;)
