Title: A lesson learn't
Post by: september on July 26, 2008, 05:10:19 PM
Last summer Roxy was only a teeny baby and it wasn't very hot so she didn't really get too hot on long walks!

However we went for a lovely walk in the park today but even though it was in the trees she was quite hot (I took water for her for when we got back to the car!)

The lesson is this - puppy owners take note!!

A spaniel that is too hot will find water to wallow in to cool down.

well thats fine I hear you say! well in theory yes but the second lesson is this

Always check streams for quality control as what seems like a nice little stream is probably a black bog when aforementioned spaniel digs and rolls in it

I have to say the result was actually hilarious and didn't she look pleased with herself emerging with a black face, black legs and mostly black body!!!!!!

Oh yes, we have learned that one.......

.....but too often we forget it, or at least forget that Buddy will be likely to run into that ditch just there! His recall is pretty good, but once hi is on his way into stagnant water we have no control of him at all ph34r
