Just adopted a Red cocker, with white blaze on his face from Battersea Dogs Home... We've called him Ollie, after OliverTwist. He is around 18 months to 2 years and was taken in as a stray. He was in terrible condition, but over the last three days, that we've had him and with a good bath, good food and lots of love he is already starting to bloom and He is a absolute star! I'll send some pics very soon. Still trying to get Nell and Pat to adjust to their new brother.

The last five days have been an absolute pleasure and Ollie has been a complete star! He has settled in as if this had been his home all along. The cat - Pat - has now adjusted to him and is gradually befriending him...And Nell thinks she has been sent a playmate from doggy heaven and just adores him.
I will send pics very soon, well as soon as I can get him to pose. Every time I go to take his pic his follows me, so not easy at the moment. Have tried cutting and pasting some bad pics in the meantime, though I don't think it will work?

A special welcome to Ollie from Winnie, who also came via Battersea at the age of 8. One year on now and I can't imagine life withouth her, she has settled in so well. Ollie looks beautiful from your profile, and I look forward to seeing more pics and hearing about his progress.

Winnie looks lovvely too. Battersea dogs - rescue dogs come to that - are true Angels . They have been through so much and just want to be loved.

Jane, I have just realised that Winnie is the dog I saw at Old Windsor when I visited last year...I posted about her at the time :luv:

I am so pleased that she found a lovely new home; I have never forgotten the image of her face when I visited the kennels, so it it lovely to be able to replace that with the wonderful pictures you have posted of her :-*
-
I think I recognised her too. Jane, does she have, or did she have a bad eye?
(We weren't ready to adopt last year as Little Nell was just a puppy).
-
Congratulations on finding your rescue boy. I'm very pleased for you. Hope Nell is good girl and they have a great life together.
-
Thanks Ladylola. Nell has really taken to him and it's only been a week. Although she is very bossy, but he just seems to ignore her and comes and finds us for extra cuddles.

You are both correct! I adopted Winnie from Old Windsor last July. She was advertised as 5-7 years old, but at the final vet check they got a partial reading from an old microchip, which appeared to be over 7 years old....so her birthday was quickly changed and she gained 2 years in 10 seconds!! She only has one eye. Battersea decided to remove the bad one because it was infected and blind. :'(
Winnie and I have just survived our first holiday B&B weekend together. We went to South Wales and walked part of Offa's Dyke. My friend took pictures so I hope to be able to post some soon. Winnie didn't like being left in the room at all.....I had to streak down the corridor in only a towel when she started barking while I was in the bath!!! :005: So she had to come in the bathroom with me and even tried to lick me dry :luv: I love her to bits and you will be pleased to know she is happy and healthy here.

it is so lovely to know that Winnie and you are made for each other. It brings tears to my eyes! I remember seeing her and she was so beautiful, that I wanted to take her home, though Nell would have been too young and boisterous for her... Clearly, Winnie was obviously meant to be with you.

He looks a very handsome boy :luv: Congratulations on giving him a lovely home and it sounds like he is settling in wonderfully :D
