I was really looking forward to having a fluffy puppy. There are so many gorgeous photos of puppy's with lovely fluffy coats. Jade will be 16 weeks this Friday and her coat is quite smooth and silky i though it would come with time but there's no sign of it yet :-\ Although she is getting some good feathering on her legs. Am i worrying over nothing and do you think it will thicken up or have an affect on any potential show coat

Awww bless her cotton socks , her coat will come with time. She has more feathering than Taya who is also 16 wks. But she is adorable.

Be careful what you wish for, you might get it! :005:
Count your blessings, it looks like she will have one of those easy care coats, although it may not be a really thick one. It's still her puppy coat too, so you won't really know what the adult coat is like until at least several months after her first season ;)

Jade is a little sweetie. :luv:
Ozzy's coat was the same as a puppy, but now it's full and silky - and very manageable. :shades:

hi :D , lovely puppy :luv:
count yourself lucky, your puppies coat looks like it will be a dream to keep on top of.
one of my girls, melody had a really thick coat ( think thats a solid colour thing :005:), and even now melody is 8 1/2 months old and still has a really thick coat, it feels i'm constantley brushing her coat, to avoid matts and knots forming.
so i'll swap with you :005:
love terri

:005: :lol2: I was thinking that as i was typing the post, In 12 months time when i'm hand stripping her and my fingers are complaining i will probably be wishing i han't said it.

she's beautiful :luv:
..and bless her she looks like she's saying 'I'm sorry mum that I don't have more feathering' in that first photo (those EYES - she'd get anything in my house if she looked at me like that :luv: :luv: )

She's gorgeuous! :luv:

This is very true, like you said give her some time .....right now she just looks like she wearing her summer bikini....just needs to make way for her party dress ;)
Whether she develops a big coat or not she is still gorgeous :luv:

The first photo was more of a case of where are you going i've not had my treat yet for standing still ;)
-
I've just realised what she's standing on!!!................An ironing table :lol2:
Genius multi usage there ;)
-
ph34r I haven't quite got around to getting a grooming table yet, although i am looking.
Grooming gets done on a board on the top of the cage and the ironing board for practicing show standing :shades: :005: Not that it gets used for ironing much now we have a steam press ;)

Trust me you dont want a "fluffy" puppy! Isla's coat is so fluffy it's like cotton wool! It's a nightmare to keep mats out of her! It's only short as well so I suppose I should be glad it's not long AND fluffy! :005:
Love her face in the first pic!

Mali has a smooth coat too and I'm soooooooooooooooo happy that she has. We regularly see another golden from the same breeder as Mali's and he is like a great big teddy bear but I'd hate to have to groom that!
I use the ironing table for grooming too, it saves me having a sore back and stops Mali from wanting to wriggle off :005:
She does find it a bit confusing though, when I get the board out she doesn't quite know whether to run or stay. When she see's her towel go on top she knows and she's off like a shot!
