Hi all,
Henry is now 14.5 weeks old and we've started going out for walks which he loves, our local walk is through a wood behind the house and he runs around off lead and loves it and doesn't stray too far ;)
He's started rolling around when he picks up a scent and he stinks- is this a fox scent?
Also he makes a bee line for any bit of mud around so comes home absolutely stinking ph34r, I don't want to have to give him a full bath after each walk so I've just been dipping his feet and ears in warm soapy water and leaving it at that.
It helps by getting rid of the mud but he still stinks ;) is there any thing I can spray on him till his next full bath as an interim to make him smell better - what about essential oils mixed in water? or body spray or a bit of perfume ph34r
what can I put on him to stop him stinking so much???? :D

Sorry, couldn't resist.....
I think you can get freshening wipes but no idea how effective they are.... the anti-allergy ones we got when we first got Honey and I couldn't go near her without wheezing ::) made her smell pretty nice, so they've got to be worth a try....

I think some people make a mix of conditioner and water and spray it on their dogs to keep tangles away, i imagine that'd make them smell nice too. :D
I am unfortunately blessed with a smelly spangle ph34r have ruled out all the usual causes so i am resigned so the fact that he is just a smelly boy. ::) Lucy always used to smell gorgeous, but now she's incontinent she has old lady smell. ph34r ph34r ph34r

I use GROOMERS PUPPY FRESH SPRAY available from PAH or on line.
It smells lovely...just like baby lotion or talc :luv:
I bought it after a recommendation on a similar thread a long while back.
It is now an essential when the pong gets too much >:D

I have used the sprays, i have used the wipes, they are effective.
I have just bought a dry shampoo though from PAH, its a mousse type foam, you rub it in yourself and leave it or wipe away with a cloth - no water nessecary and so far so good!!

our breeder gave us a brochure for a company that makes odor reducing shampoos and various other smell reducing products. i'm going to have to find the info on that, but if i can find it, i'll be sure to post it. this breeder only works with cockers, so it might be a great solution.
i don't know what fox smells are like, but where i grew up in the north east of the US, we had a lot of skunks around, the smell they leave is positively mind-blowing. they STINNNNNNK. :o :o big time. the traditional solution for a sunk spray is a serious bath in tomato juice. we've even had to porch-wash my sister like that after a skunk found her in the bushes with her "friend." there are also numerous other homemade solutions online.
let me see...if i can find the name of the company recommended by my breeder, i'll post it!

I also use Groomers fresh puppy spray, have done since we brought him home, and it does smell gorgeous, like baby powder.
I have used the thick wet wipes as well for inbetween baths, both products from PAH.
I bath Bentley once a week which i know is fairly regular but i can't stand pooey smelly feet and as he is mostly white in colour............need i say any more??? :005:
