Took Bailey to the vets yesterday as he was acting like he had done a few months ago, not moving shaking and wimpering, last time it was infected anal glands, so thought it was the same, the vet said yes they were extremely infected >:D and gave me some antibiotics for him :shades: he as been very quite all day and off his food :shades: but he was like this for a few days last time :shades: BUT my son was just giving him a cuddle and found that one of his balls is very swollen >:D so will have to go back again now that is 4 times in just over a week and 4 hour waiting times as we are having to use the RSPCA vets having no money >:D >:D ITS not the waiting or the fact that the air conditioning is broke >:D its all the worry with just burying the cat on Monday... Sorry I know I am ranting any thoughts...
-

I hope Bailey is soon seen and back to normal, what a worry for you. :-*
Is it possible to go to the RSPCA, tell them you are there and then wait outside or in the car, rather than in the waiting room?

No :shades: if you register than you go on a list that is sometimes put up so you can see where you are on it :shades: but if you go outside and miss your turn they wont wait for you they will put you further down the list :o and yesterday there were a lot of nasty dogs :o ones you wouldnt want to be in a confined space with :005: one rotwielller needed two people to hold him and he wanted a go at all the dogs luckly he had a muzzle on :shades: I am worse than Bailey it really makes me feel uneasy :005: and bailey hates staffies and there was one on either side of us at one point :005: :005:he has actually picked up a little and had his tea and a few biscuits :luv: :luv: plus the swelling doesnt seem to be hurting him you can handle it and he doesnt flinch   well fingers crossed its nothing serious..Ann

What they said :luv:
Me too, keeping everything crossed.

I know exactly how you are feeling having been told a few weeks ago Jessie had cancer!
We were asked if we wanted to choose the PTS option and we said NO as long she isnt suffering. Surgery isnt an option in her case so she is having chemotherapy treatment currently - we wont know how well (if at all) it is working until she has another MRI scan on the 10th June....
Jessie is doing very well after 2 weeks of treatment we are convncing ourselves she is on the mend...Cancer surgery in dogs is Very successful.....and if it has spread chemo is an option.....use the insurance - the costs mount up pretty quickly - we are at £2000 already - and we only got the diagnosis on the 11th May!
Thinking of you and Bailey.....
-

Our Dylan (aged 10) had an anal-adenomour (sp?) in September last year that was found on his routine yearly jabs. He had a biopsy taken and it was removed (also castrated due to testosterone increasing it's chances of return).
I pray this is what Bailey has and he'll be back to normal in no time.
Sending you positive thoughts from the Dorset coast :-*

Thanks again everyone :luv: :luv: was hoping that our usual vet would give me more positive news this morning :shades: but no :luv: he mentioned that it could be one of 3 types of tumours that are fast growing but usually benign, but it could still be cancer :'( :'( and said he wouldnt like to build my hopes up so :shades: he took his temp and it was up and the lump is now hot were it wasnt at first so he had some more injections to help with the pain, and he as to stay quite all weekend :luv: :luv: he is being a little picky with his food :005: but we dont mind :luv: :luv:he is first down on Monday so the biopsies will go straight off and then we will have to wait till Wednesday for the results :luv: :luv: The boys are as bad as me and just keep giving him hugs and asking if I am ok :luv: :luv: and why oh why mumdo all these shitty things keep happening to us >:D Thanks again for all your good wishes I feel stronger having you all here...Ann

Baileys op took longer than expected :shades: :shades: so he as a big scar, and they had to take his scrotum away as well :luv: :luv: the vet rang and said he thinks it could be that the testical had become twisted and thats why it was so swollen :shades: But, he didnt want to get my hopes hope we have to stil wait for the results :shades: He will also have to be sedated again to take his stiches out :luv: :luv:my poor little man :luv: :luv: he can come home around 3 :lol2: :lol2: but as to be kept very quite :luv: :luv: so we have just been aroun the house and picked all his toys up and put them away :005: so he wont be tempted to play.. thanks again for all the love and good wishes :luv: :luv: cant wait to go and get him :luv: :luv: :luv:
-
I'm so glad that Bailey's op went well, I hope it was just a twisted testicle, that would be the best news. Why does he have to be sedated to have his stitches out?
Big cuddles to Bailey when he comes home. :luv:
-
Poor boy, I'm glad the op went well for him :luv:. Fingers crossed here that the results are clear and that this is the last treatment he'll need :D
-
Thinking of you Ann. Fingers crossed it is what the vet thinks it is :-* :-*
-
So glad that his op. went well and that the vet thinks that the twisted testicle (ouch) could be the reason for the swelling. Painful for poor Bailey but hopefully nothing nasty in the long term.
My William's castration was a fairly big op. because one of his testicles had been hiding near his kidneys and it took the vet ages to find it. William had internal and external stitches and was very unhappy and uncomfortable for the first day after the operation. I slept downstairs with him because he couldn't settle and kept pacing up and down, so don't be surprised if Bailey is much the same.
Big hugs to Bailey and you, and good luck with the results. :luv:
-
Poor Bailey, he has certainly been through the wars :'(,i'm glad he come through the op ok, everything crossed here, that the problem was just a twisted testicle. Give Bailey a gentle squidge from us, when he comes home :-* :luv:

I'm so glad that Bailey's op went well, I hope it was just a twisted testicle, that would be the best news. Why does he have to be sedated to have his stitches out?
Big cuddles to Bailey when he comes home. :luv:
The vet said its because he as quite a few stiches in and he doesnt think he will stay still long enough whilst he removes them:shades:so we will have to wait and see..
Well the wee man is home and very quite :luv: :luv: :luv: he as just had 4 forkfulls of food yes I hand fed him :005: :005: he is without bucket at the min and doing quite well without it :luv: :luv: the nurse said to me when she was bringing him out to me he is very sedadted and quite :005: :005:he came bounding at me like a bull in a china shop :005: :005: so she laughed and said try and keep him quite :005: :005: But since we have got home he as been very quite bless him oh and she said she thinks it was what the vet said (a twisted testicle) lots of love for my boy for the next few days :luv: :luv: :luv: :luv:

Hi gang :luv: Bailey was very quite last night :luv: and I had to put the bucket on :005: :005: was not mpressed his little head went really down and he looked so depressed so took it off :luv: but when we was not looking he would try to lick it :luv: :luv:so I had to put it on him when we went to bed :luv: :luv: My OH took it of him early this morning 6.30am as he had to take my sons cat to the vets as he was loosing his manhood too :005: :005: the cat I mean not my OH :005: :005: and Bailey came charging up the stairs like the old Bailey :luv: :luv: bless him and he eat all his breakfast, I put the bucket back on whilst I nipped in to town :luv: And the poor thing caught the edge of it on the conservatory door and wouldnt move looking at me as though his whole world had fallen apart :005: :005:"mummy I cant move I cant fit through the door HELP" :luv: :luv: :005: :005: so I made sure he could move freely through all the downstairs of the house and left him :shades: when i returned my son was waiting for me and laughing said look at Bailey :shades: :shades:he was on the chair near the window with his back to us :shades: and would not move my son said he had even gone round to the back of the house and looked in at him from that window and he still stayed put frozen :luv: :luv: Bless him took it straight of him and he moved :005: :005: so still not trying to think about tomorow and the results just happy to have him home.
I must say it is a big scar and it looks pretty wierd now as he was very well endowed my little chap :005:
and now it looks empty apart from a big plaster :luv:which I will let them remove tomorow :005: sorry but it is time to put the bucket back on him as I am tired and ready for bed :luv: :luv: I think I will ask them for a clear bucket for him maybe he wont be so scared to move if he can see where he is going :005: :005:
