Had a great walk this evening but ever since we got home Fred has been hiccuping/retching and constantly licking his lips like he wants to be sick but other than a couple of burps nothing is happening. Is there anything I can do to help him- he has had a nibble on the grass at the end of the street but was actually more interested in seeing if I had anything in my treat bag. Seems happy enough in himself but just trying to vomit?
Any ideas thoughts tips welcome

I know it's not a common thing in cockers, but trying to be sick and not producing anything can be a sign of bloat. Hope not and probably isn't. Could he have something stuck in his throat do you think. Maybe the grass.

Is there any chance workmen have been to spray the grass for weeds etc? :-\

Think that if he had something stuck in his throat that he wouldnt have eaten his bedtime-biscuit.
Does anyone know how long it normally is after a dog has eaten grass before they are sick- he is happy enough in himself still it is just the bouts of retching that are bothering me- also is it worth trying some salt water or is that a big no-no for dogs.
He was retching before he ate the grass and unless we spray for weeds ourselves the end of our street never gets done.. >:(

Hope Fred is feeling better today and over his retching episode, love to all Heather xxx

Glad Fred is ok. I was going to say when mine are sick you can bet it never starts in the day, its always in the early hours so you have to get out of bed a let them out. In the case of Millie several times.
