Hi All
We got up this morning and Lulu's head looks a funny shape .. She looks a little lopsided
(http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o281/DuracilBunny/DSC02238.jpg)
if you look at the photo you can see one of her eyebrow is sitting higher than the other one and one ear is sitting flatter than the other.
She's 7m old .. is it something to do with her growing. ..she's OK in herself and she's OK with me touching it.

Can't help with the "lop sided head part" but she is definitely one beautiful girl.
-
No useful advice, but just had to say - Lulu is stunning :luv: :luv: :luv:
-
I was going to say the same, she's a little stunner, she looks perfect to me :luv: :luv:

me too :luv:
-
Do you think she just slept funny on that side....
I agree with the others...she is beautiful
-
I would get her ears checked out by the vet.............
Recently when Lizzy had a grass seed go into her ear she carried that ear differently to the other, I guess to try and protect it. Looking at your picture it looks like Lulu is doing just that, one ear is held higher than the other.
Hope I'm wrong, the removal cost us over £150 and she had to be sedated to have it done. :'(
-
Hopefully she just has bed head going on :-*
-
Been looking at Lulu on and off all day .. It's not her head that's a funny shape .. It's a swelling above her eye .. I am thinking she has been stung or bit.
Spoke to my mum who has been breeding dog for 25 years and she seem to think the same as me.
Going to see what it is like in the morning.

-
Ah, I think you could be right.
Is it not sore at all though?
She is a beauty. :luv: :luv:
-
Got up this morning and it has started to do down .. She's still running about like a nutter .. :005:

-
That's good news, :D it does sound like she could have been stung by something, i hope the swelling continues to go down ;)

-
That sounds ok then. Phew!
-
She is one gorgeous girl, glad she is getting better its such a worry when something is not quite right.
-
How is Lulu now? Has the swelling gone back down fully?
-
It is getting better .. Still not gone right down yet.
She’s still running about eating as much as ever .
Will see what it is like in the morning and if it’s not better I am going to ring the vet.
Sherrie.x.
-
You can phone the emergency vet for advice if you're worried, they won't mind. :-*
-
Very stressed .. Lulu bump was going down well .. BUT it started to come back up last night and OMG when she got up this morning it’s really big. :'( :'(
Going to the vet at 1.30 today … I wish I could fast forward time.

Well back from the vets .. They seem to think it’s a sting...she looks so bad today
Lulu has had a jab and is on antibiotics .. Finger crossed she will be ok.
Sherrie.x.
-
Oh that's a relief if it's just a sting. I hope she feels better soon. :luv:
-
Glad its just a sting - well, obviously not for poor Lulu so near her eye :embarassed: Ouch!
Hugs from us. :luv: :luv:

-
Molly got stung in August 2005 when she was 9 months old!
Her face and nose area was all swollen, she looked awful :'(
The vet gace her a steroid injection and she was back to normal in a day!
Hope you get good news at the vest! xxx
-
Hope they find out whats causing the swelling with Lulu, hope its nothing serious
Will be keeping all fingers and paws crossed for you.

Hi Sherrie
Just caught this thread, hope Lulu is feeling better now she has been to the vet.
Harley sends her big hugs.
See you soon.
Jen & Harley
-
Just got back from the vet ..
It's not a sting or bit .. It's a abscess .. It's been darned and she has had a antibiotic jab and has got antibiotics tables.
Not very happy with what the other vet gave me(pets at home vet).. That wasn't antibiotics that was some thing to stop swelling . >:(
Got to keep a eye on her and if it comes back up she has got to go in and have a drain put in
Sherrie.x.
-
Poor Lulu, I can understand why you're cross with the first vet. Hopefully she's on the road to recovery now and it won't reappear.
-
Poor Lulu. :luv: I hope the meds work for her and the abcess disappears.
-
Have only just seen this thread. One of out Golden Retrievers had an abscess on her head as well but they could drain it so she had to have it operated on.
Crossing our fingers & paws the meds work x
-
Poor little girl :luv:. Hopefully she'll soon feel better :luv: :luv:
I once rushed Brodie to P@H - not our normal vets - on a Sunday with an emergency (a stick stuck at the back of her mouth) and they almost turned us away :o >:(
-
Thats exactly what Krumble had a few months ago and it took 6 weeks of abs for it to go away. He was nearly admitted to the vet school for an MRI as it could have been a tumour. Hope Lulu gets better soon.
-
Sometimes I wonder what these vets have learnt at vet school >:( Hope she's soon feeling better :-*
-
Oh my goodness the poor little love, she does still look very pretty though even with a huge lump. Anyhow I hope it starts to mend soon without too much aggravation. Its such a worry xx
-
Aww Poor Lulu! I hope she gets better quickly now you know what it is..... Poor Girl....

Get well soon Lulu :luv:
-
Bless her, hope she is soon on the mend :luv:

I saw this thread when you first posted and like a lot of others couldn't really see anything, it just goes to show that mums have a sixth sense over this sort of things, just like when our kids are really unwell and we know its something out of the ordinary, you knew there was something not right with Lulu. We should always trust our instincts with our human and doggie babies ;). Glad she is getting the right treatment and I hope she feels better soon :luv:

Well things are looking better…it’s seem to be getting smaller. :D
It’s so nice to look at Lulu and not see a big bump and see both her lovely little eye’s. :luv:
Thank you all for your support and well wishes . ((hugs))
Will try to get some photos of her playing in the kids pool later .. She has just found out she loves water.

Poor Lulu, I hope the bump is reducing in size and Lulu looks her normal gorgeous self :luv: :luv:
-
Glad she's getting better :luv: :luv: Looking forward to the photos!
-
Glad it seems to be going down.
I suppose it could have been a bite or sting to start with which then became infected. SO they were both right. It's just unfortunate that it had to develop into a fully blown abscess before you got the right treatment.
Hope it settles fully without needing to be drained.
-
Lulu's head is geting better by the day...
i have posted some new photos of her
