Rufus is very well behaved when we have meals properly at the dining table. Usually, he has his nature diet (half pack for tea) when he comes back from afternoon walk, then goes and looks out of the window, or has a mooch in the garden. Today, instead for a treat after we had eaten he had a roast dinner too (no stuffing or gravy as too salty). That is cauliflower gratinee, roast potato, carrot, peas, yorkshire pudding, roast chicken and juices from the chicken, all mixed up in his spaniel bowl (in the utility room). I few seconds later I saw him out in the garden. I looked in his bowl and he had eaten everything except every single petit pois. How on earth did he eat round them! Any ones elses cockers fussy like this?

I don't think he's ever had a full Sunday dinner including peas but Rodaidh can be a fussy little sod. He spits things out if he doesn't like them or just rejects them totally - I grabbed the treat bag earlier and it had some cheese in it that I'd cut up yesterday so it had gone a bit rubbery; Caoimhe and Tilly both inhaled it as usual but when I offered Ro a bit of it he sniffed it and then looked at me doubtfully and walked off :005:

very fussy one here. but looks like he will eat it, trots off to the rug in the lounge and leaves whatever it is there stuck to the rug ph34r
comes back making out he's eaten it and is emaciated and wants more!
my horse loves apples and carrots in her chaff and will eat round the apples / carrots to 'save the best for last' it does make me laugh

:005: I just can't imagine any Cocker rejecting anything connected with food even peas.

All my previous cockers have loved fruit & veg of all kinds, so it came as a surprise to me when Violet refused any fruit & veg I offered her.
Today, I was making a carrot cake & I had a bit of carrot left over. I offered it to her but she wouldn't take it.
I had a brainwave when I did her dinner, I cut the bit of carrot up into tiny bits & stirred it into her dinner.
She left it :lol2:
How she managed to separate it from the other food I will never know, but her dinner bowl was left with pieces of carrot in the bottom :lol2:

Katie will eat anything food related (and somethings that are not given half a chance >:D ) Always wants a bit of the Charlie Rabbit's veggie. Smudge on the other hand is a bit more fussy and altho will take a piece of carrot cos Katie did - will then spit it out ::)

Jarv is a fussy git - if people can persuade him to take a treat, he will gingerly take it as if it were poisoned (with a look of total disgust on his face) turn his head away and spit it out....
If you offer him something he's not sure of he'll sniff it, look at you with astonishment that you would offer him something so heinous, and turn his head away sharply in complete distaste... :shades:

Belle will eat anything, anytime, any place she is definately no fussy eater ph34r :005:

Milly's the same, until it comes down to a suposedly paletable antibiotic tablet, then, no matter how small you break it up, or whatever medium its hidden in, she'll find it & spit it out! >:(
Oh yes, and she stole a raspberry once - didn't like it so squished it in the carpet. ::)
-
breeze picks out the carrots and places them on the floor when she walks away Coco eats them.
-
My lot would eat anything! In fact they LOVE frozen peas. They queue up when I'm sorting things out in the freezer waiting for a handful to be thrown down on the floor!! :luv:
-
I have been known to give my two a whole egg shell and all broken into their meal....Sally will carefully pick out every bit of shell and stack it neatly on the floor and then when she walks off Glen comes and wolfs it down....he is a hoover and eats everything and anything except one type of dog biscuit he got in a stocking once...it must have been hideous because I ahve seen the things he does eat ph34r

Oh I love it when Rufus and Jarvis The Handsome Brown One have things in common. Rufus is not that keen on treats, although when we are training he will accept liver stick. However, he will not accept treats offered by any one else, even friends, and he does the turn the head away thing too!

:lol2: :lol2: This week Darcey has actually begged for her antibiotic tablets. She sits prettily for them with one paw up then takes them gently from my fingers.
She also loves peas.

Millie is an absolute gannet if you are eating and does the "I haven't eaten in erm, minutes" routine very well! However, give her a new treat and she'll gingerly take it off you, wander away and spit it out before inspecting it to see if it's worth eating or not!
