poppy is 5 years old and is in season, she is to be spayed 3 months after the end of this season
over the past 2 days she has seemed very tired ( my mum and dad looked after her yesterday and she was chasing the kids round all day apparently) but when we have been walking her she keeps sitting down and has been very sleepy at home at one point she looked as if her front paw was sore to put down but i have a look at it and it seemed OK and then she was fine afterwards
she did chase a stone when thrown but was not as active as usual on her walk
do you think it is just due to her age and the fact that she is in season or should we see the vet, I'm very worried about my little fur baby she doesn't seem herself, last night she made a really strange howling sound she did not appear in pain or anything she just sat there and did it???
she has not been off her food at all
many thanks

My Phoebe is 3 and she's in season atm too. I'd say she is displaying similar behaviour to your Poppy. She had just come in and HB said he thought there was something wrong with Phoebe as she seemed much quieter than usual. I told him she's like this when she has a season but once its over she is much more alert again. She is still active, don't get me wrong just not as full on as she can be at other times.
