Title: Small Lump
Post by: superscot on December 10, 2009, 11:50:33 PM
Took Brea to the vet tonight after we found a small pea sized lump on her back.

Thought after reading a few threads it’s better to be safe than sorry

Vet wants to remove it for further examination . Really just found it after we had her clipped short so fingers crossed all will be ok.

She goes in on Wed morn to have it removed so Wed will be a bit of a worrying day ......

Cheers Colin

Oh no, poor Brea - I hope everything goes well on Wednesday and it turns out to be nothing serious, Brodie sends hugs to her half-sis :luv:

Just for referance, Keli has had many lumps over about 5 years. I kept being told they were "fatty nodes" and thus did not want to get them removed without good reason. Not all lumps require removal. It's worth remembering the addage of not opening up unless entirely required.

Hope all goes well for you and the news isn't bad! :luv:

Our Saffy has just had a lump investigated - it turned out to be harmless and requires no further interference except keeping it 'in mind' - our vet will not remove unless he has a good reason.  It is though a worrying time and we hope all goes well

Just picked her up and she is as bright as a button as they say ! Need to wait till next week on the results but she is looking fine and really hungry.

What was even better that we only had to pay the excess on the policy as the practise will just do a straight claim from the Greenbee for the remainder.

Basically just glad she is home

cheers Colin

As it turns out it two small lumps ended up being removed with one just where her collar goes and the other on her back end.

She has eaten well and been out the back to do her doings ...basically all she wanted was a bit of cuddling time and is now crashed out on the leather sofa.

Had to borrow a few wee small socks for her from the wains next door to stop her scratching at the wound on her neck.

As she has managed to make this one bleed will see how she is in the morning.

Nay long Callendar Park walks for 10 days!!!!!!

Withdrawal symptoms! For Me!

Still give me a chance to complete my Xmas shopping

Cheers Colin

Hope Brea's had a good day and isn't so itchy - there's nothing worse than no walkies ::). When Brodie was on restricted exercise I used to trick her by carrying her to the park at the end of the street for a wee and then carrying her back home again - she'd think she'd been out a walk :005:.

Grand news for the start of 2010 oor Brea is just fine !  She was down today for the stitches to be removed and vet informed us nothing to worry about just small cysts. Thought it better to be safe than sorry and has sort of played at the back of my mind of something more sinister..So a wee celebration of a big hoose half ! :lol2: :lol2:

Decided at the time just to have her booster jag done and save coming back mid January so all inoculations up to date ;) and she is fine so long walks will start as soon as this icy wind chill factor sorts its self out.

Cheers Colin

Only just caught up with this thread......such good news to go into the new year with.

Glad all is well.  Cysts are common little nuisances aren't they???  But, nice to have diagnosed rather than anything more sinister.
