I have clipped the hair on the inside of Daisy's ears as she doesn't like having them brushed and they are very thick. Since the hair has been short I have noticed a kind of dandruff in the hair close to the skin of the ears mainly on the inner side of the ear. Does anyone know what this is? and how I should treat it? :D

Is it dander, which hasn't been cleared as the underside doesn't get brushed/groomed? It isn't irritating her or sore is it?

If the hair was previously very thick and not brushed through properly it is probably a build up of dirt and earwax I would say. :-\ I would give the ears a good wash to remove all debris then see how it goes.
I always keep the insides of the earflap clipped short too,

It isn't irritating her or sore (as far as I can see), so it could very well be dander. Does that mean I have got to try and brush/comb the inside of her ears? :shades: :shades: OK I will wash both her ears and get a fine comb on them when they are dry and see how we go ;)

Llewelyn had dry skin that was quite smelly/yeasty in the multifold flap on the underside of his ears. The vet gave us Malaseb shampoo to wash it and leave for ten mins every two days, it cleared up almost immediately.
