We change the number of feeds per day according to the dog's age? Freddie (5 months) is still on 4 meals partly because he has had suspected colitis and a restricted diet (now back on kibble and seems to be OK). I have just thought that with a sensitive tum, smaller more frequent meals would be better for him. Is there any physiological reason why older dogs have less feeds a day or is it just a matter of convenience?

I would guess it was something to do with the size of their stomachs :-\
