Oh dear, poor Dougie has decided he would rather be a love machine instead of a top model - so we have given up on the vague idea of showing, and he is off to the vets tomorrow! :o :005:
He has been great up until the last couple of months or so, but has now become a humper of all dogs, and a scent marker of their houses, and to cap it all was fighting with his un-nuteured pal the other day (although the other dog did start it - or so he said. ;)). ::)
I'll be there with him, but have been warned to stay out of theatre when he is getting done, so I'll be out front biting my nails until he is awake again. I'm pretending not to be worried, but I am secretly terrified, he's my baby....! :fear2:
-
aww poor Dougie the little love. Its great that you work at the vets though and therefore do not have the angst of leaving him. I don't know if I could keep out of the surgery though I would find it fascinating. Will be thinking of you both tomorrow hun, take care.
Love Sharon Jasmine and Bella xx woof woof

:rofl1: :rofl1:
Aww Fiona; its the way you tell 'em :005:
-
Oh Dougie, best of luck my lovely boy with your op! Blodwen will be having her op next month so knows exactly how you feel! (She spent the entire week humping Llewelyn last week - although, fingers crossed, this has passed now and she has stopped as quickly as she started!)
Hope its all over quickly and the little love machine makes a quick recovery :luv:
-
Oh poor Dougie, Monty sympathises, he is off to see Vet Nicola next Tuesday for his boy op too!! I am worried already Fiona, so goodness knows how you feel! ph34r I am dreading the morning of his op - no breakfast is going to be a toughie as Monty does cartwheels off the kitchen unit fronts whilst waiting for his brekkie, I think he is a tad hungry first thing!!! ph34r :005:
Sending lots of love and good luck wishes for Dougie, give him a special hug from us. xx
-
Best of luck for Dougie tomorrow :luv:

I've seen loads of neutering, and it is interesting to watch, but I don't want to see my boy under anaesthetic, that is quite different! :P
I toyed with the idea of taking the day off so I can just leave him and go away and be busy elsewhere, but decided to take Friday off to look after him, as most dogs seem to be bouncing off the walls the next day, and I'll need to stop him jumping from couch to couch (via Tia usually). ::) :lol2:
:rofl1: :rofl1:
Aww Fiona; its the way you tell 'em :005:
Err, Sue, I would have appreciated a bit of sympathy here - I'm in distress! :005:
-
here you go :bigarmhug:
(he'll be fine - you know that, but it won't stop you fretting I know ;) )
xx
-
Oh dear little love machine, be a brave boy. :005: :luv:
And Fiona, be a brave Mummy. :-*
Hope all goes smoothly (I'm sure it will). :D

Och aye hun, I'm sorry for laughing......if it makes you feel any better, I had a thread running for ages before Chloe got her op; I was in a right state. I even went out and got babygrows for her from the charity shop to stop her biting her stitches and folk on here had to put up with no end of my worries :005:
-
Oh Fiona.... shall I tell you??? No... no, I won't tell you that despite the fact that Dave was given the chop nearly a year ago... he still managed to seriously 'annoy' at least 3 ladies on a COL meet last weekend... he hasn't lost his va va voom, but possibly has become a little more romantic and less 'if it has a pulse'.
Big hugs for tomorrow, bury your head in the sand - that works for me every time :D
-
Dennis is sending Duggie big hugs and thinking of him.
-
Hope everything goes well tomorrow. Will be thinking of you both.

I've heard that some dogs still have a little romantic side to them - indeed, Gari had a girlfriend when he was 10, he adored her, and practically bought her flowers and chocolates - a bit better than the usual "Who cares who you are, I like you very much anyway, so to speak" train of thought! :lol2:

ooooh - poor Dougie :-\. I'm sure all will go well
-
Poor Dougie I'm sure he will be OK and although still amorous ,in a nicer sort of way. (bet he still cocks his leg at everything though)
-
great big :bigarmhug: for Dougie & for you Fiona :-*
I'm sure everything will go fine with his op but hope the time goes quickly for you both & he's soon back home getting tons of cuddles off his mum & Tia :luv:
-
I'm sure he'll be fine Fiona ;) hope it goes well and makes a difference to his amorous adventures :005:
At least you'll be on hand to see him straight after
Jann ;)

Yes I was one of the folk who was reassuring you she would be fine - so, it is now your turn to reassure me, so STOP LAUGHING!!! :buttkick:
Poor Dougie is distraught he hasn't had a treat since 8pm, just wait until morning when Tia gets breakfast and he doesn't! ph34r Although, it would be worse if she was the one not having breakfast, she would never cope! :005:
-
Will be thinking of Dougie & you today :-* :bigarmhug: Hope it all goes well & the love machine is de-activated. :shades:
Let us all know how he is later. :luv: :-*
-
I hope it all goes well for Dougie Fiona and they manage to safely defuse the love-bomb :005: :luv: I'm sure he'll be fine :bigarmhug:
-
Hope all has gone well today for Dougie and he makes a speedy recovery. All the little girlie doggies are now breathing a sigh of relief! :005:
-
Thinking of Dougie today.............hope all goes well for your little boy.
At least his Mummy will be around when he wakes up from it all, hey???
Sending cyber hugs to you all.

Same here :rofl1: :rofl1: :rofl1:
Buddy isn't even all that bothered about the pulse ph34r. Blankets and duvets are a particular fave in this house!!!!
But he did stop bothering the COL girlies at meets so it was worth it. ;)
Hope Dougie is ok.
-
Hope all goes smoothly for Dougie today :luv: bless him. And I'm sure he'll get a scrummy tea to make up for the no brekkie :D
-
Hope all went well and you and Dougie survived the ordeal :luv:
-
Hope Duggie got on ok today. Murphy has never been a humper really, well apart from Janna the retriever, he used to hump her head everytime she lay down ph34r
-
How is little Dougie doing, hope you are both ok. xxx
-
Well, I am Public Enemy No.1! ph34r He hates me, won't come near me, and even tried to go for me! ph34r ph34r
He got on ok at the vets and was very well behaved apparently, I went in to see him once he was awake, then went back to get him about 4pm, and he was having a right go at his stitches, so he came away wearing a buster collar. :P He wouldn't even walk with it on, and at home didn't seem to know how to lie down, and was half sitting/standing while trying to sleep. ::) So, I stupidly, took it off, and put some boxer shorts on him, and he went back to sleep.
But, when he awoke again later, he managed to twist them round and got to the stitches again, so I put the collar on again and he just sat down and cried. Being such a softy, I couldn't bear to see him upset, so off I went to Asda and bought a couple of packs of babygrows, then came back and attempted to get one on him - OH held him up and he really kicked off (Dougie, not OH) snarling and trying to bite us, so we just left him with it half on. I gave him some scrambled egg, which he wolfed down, then a little boiled fish, and tried again with the babygrow, but no chance!
He is now sitting as far away from me as possible with his babygrow half on, half off, and is drawing me evil looks and growling every time I as much as walk past him. :o So, I'm just leaving him to get over it, and will see how he is tomorrow, as he is obviously still recovering from the anaesthetic. But, it seems like I took my lovely little snuggly pup into the vets and came home with an evil dog from Hell - I wonder if he was swapped over with another black Cocker?! ph34r :005:
I think the love bomb has totally exploded... :-\
-
:bigarmhug:
GA's really knock them around in unexpected ways - I'm sure Dougie will be back to normal tomorrow - not nice in the meantime though :-\
-
I'm sure he's just feeling a bit off and will be back to chewing your legs tomorrow, by this time next week he wont even remember!
-
Poor you & the Dugster :o The GA does affect them in odd ways......try not to worry Fiona, hopefully he will be back to his normal self tomorrow. :luv:
After Alfie has had GA's he sits staring into space.....it does get a bit freaky to watch. :shades:
I hope you manage to stop Dougie getting to his stitches.
-
Oh Dougie, hope you aren't just using this an excuse for more gnashing :005:
Any chance of pics of him half dressed in his babygro :shades: :005:
Seriously though Fiona, I'm sure he'll be back to his normal self quite soon; it really is amazing how differently they all seem to be affected by both the ga and their discomfort with the stitches. Chloe was definitely huffy for a couple of days, but it didn't stop her wanting to continue charging about the place. Fortunately, I was able to get the babygro on her though.
I bet Tia wonders who the new dog in the house is :005:
-
aww bless him - hope he feels better soon :luv: :D
i am sure he will have forgiven you by the morning! :005:

Any chance of pics of him half dressed in his babygro :shades: :005:
I bet Tia wonders who the new dog in the house is :005:
I didn't dare take pics of him in his babygro, but did get one of him in his boxers earlier! :005:
Tia was enjoying being an only dog, she was ecstatic when I came in from work without him, and we went a walk together without Gnasher jumping in between us! :lol2: Although, she was fine with him when he came back, she was having a good sniff and wagging her tail, but has been stuck to me like glue all evening - she doesn't dare go near him either. ::) :005:
Folk really shouldn't take pics of sleeping pets or family, it is quite cruel really... :005:

-
Oh heck Fiona, I'm sorry....but I'm laughing again ph34r
Brilliant pic, better not let Dougie see himself in such an undignified pose, he might NEVER forgive you :005:
-
Oh poor Dougie, I've averted Monty's eyes from the screen, don't want him seeing what is in store for him next Tuesday!!!
I'm sure your young man will be back to normal very soon, GAs are not nice at the best of times, and I'm sure he is feeling pretty sore and uncomfortable. Can I just ask you what size babygros you bought Fiona as I was thinking of investing in some for Monty - don't think he is going to cope too well with a buster collar!!
Sending gentle hugs to the gorgeous gnasher. :luv: :luv:
-
Oh bless him.... he looks so angelic laying there, you'd never suspect the gnasher that lies within :luv:
Seriously - he's a gorgeous boy - hope he's feeling a bit more like his old self in the morning, in which case, watch out for your ankles :005:

Oh Dougie, as if having your bits taken away is not bad enough, your mum goes and puts a picture of you in your knickers for all your friends to see. I don't blame you for not talking to her.
I hope you feel a lot better very soon. I am sure you will forget about what happened today very quickly and will soon love your mum again. I don't miss my bits at all.
Lots of wuffs & wags,
Ellie.
-
Poor Dougie, Love the photo of him in his boxer shorts. Dennis didn't cope very well with the buster collar either, kept knocking into chairs and doors.
-
Can I just ask you what size babygros you bought Fiona as I was thinking of investing in some for Monty - don't think he is going to cope too well with a buster collar!!
I bought 9-12 months and they were far too small, so he only had them on like a pair of pants - I thought babies that age were much bigger! :005: You should maybe buy the biggest size they sell, Asda's are only a couple of pounds for a pack of three, so if they don't fit, it doesn't really matter. :D
I'm a bit concerned as he hasn't peed at all today, I tried taking him towards the door just now, but you can guess his reaction when I touched him... ::)
-
:luv: Glad he is ok Fiona, even if a bit grumpy :luv:
That pics is :lol2: He looks like he has had a night on the razz :005:
-
Awh poor Dougie, hope you're feeling better soon. :luv:
-
Poor Dougie!!!! Guess it is hard for him to understand why he felt good one day, then like this another..... Your boy will be back soon, I am sure Fiona.
Sending lots of cyber hugs to you all. :luv: :luv:
-
Hope you've had a decent night, and Dougie can cast of his less than flattering knickers :005:. You're in trouble if he ever sees those photos!
-
My little  pup is back! :D I was awakened by kisses and cuddles this morning, and he was totally fine when I put a new babygro on him after breakfast - I did take it off to let him out to pee though, especially as the neighbours were out in their garden! :005:
He is still trying to lick at the stitches, but sits and looks at me with a puzzled expression on his face, and whines a little as he can't get at them, but it's either the babygro or the collar, and I know what he'd prefer! ;)
It's the walks I'm dreading, as he has to be on lead for short walks, and Tia needs a good run around, and I'd rather not have to take them separately, so haven't decided what to do yet. I've dealt with hundreds of dogs after being newly neutered, but this is my first time being on the other side of it - and I don't like it! >:( :005:
Mum, couldn't you at least have got me a black babygro??
And Mum, did you really think a 9 month old baby was 4ft tall?!
-
awwww dougie :luv: :luv: :luv: The indignity of it all :-\ :lol2:
-
Love their "you cannot be serious" faces :lol2: Tia looks like she is keeping her distance in case she has to wear one :-\
-
Bless him :luv: So pleased he is well this morning
he hasn't got a smilie face though.... I wonder why :005: :luv:
-
Get well soon little man.................you'll soon be rid of those knickers, and be up to lots of mischief again.
:luv: :luv:
-
I'm loving the buster collar on the bedside table - every bedroom should have one? :o :dunno:
-
Aw Bless, when we had to give Maddi on lead exercise, we walked them both on lead then we would sneak Murphy out for a run when Maddi was sleeping :005:
-
I'm loving the buster collar on the bedside table - every bedroom should have one? :o :dunno:
A new look in lampshades? :lol2: "A must-have for the well appointed dog owners home, and can also be useful in emergencies" :005:
Tell Dougie they are boxers and they look very manly and Calvin Klein-ish on him :luv: :luv: :005:
-
Oh bless him, he doesn't look too impressed with his new attire does he?!
So pleased to hear he is back to his usual self this morning - GAs are funny things. Have been out and bought Monty a babygro today (only we went for the largest we could find!!). The girls and I have just attempted to pop him into it so that I can work out which way round is best to fit it - didn't think Mont's would be too impressed with being fussed over next week. Well, to say we all got a fit of the giggles is an understatment, poor Monty couldn't understand what was so funny!!
Fingers crossed Dougie continues to improve daily now. Lots of love from Monty. xx
-
Pleased to hear Dougie is back to his normal, lovely self. :luv:
I'm sure he will get his revenge on you Fiona for posting his embarrassing pics.....keep those ankles covered up. :005:
-
oh Fiona, and you expect me not to laugh...not a hope in hell's chance :005: :005:
Now THIS is the way the babygro should fit
(http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr345/skyesue/babygro2.jpg)
:005: :005: :005:
Glad to hear you've got your pupster back...give him a gentle squidge from me :luv:

We are decorating just now and I did read that the way to change a room's look is to accesorize, accesorize, accesorize! :005:
It's been hard work today keeping him entertained! He's hyper as he hasn't been out running wild, so has been having lots of games, treat balls, etc, but is still on the go just now. :o I went in to wash the dishes and I heard him doing the Wall of Death round the house. ph34r How on earth do you keep a young Cocker quiet and rested?! ::) :005: I chose the wrong weekend to have him done, I've missed a free dinner with work tonight, was meant to be at Vet School Rodeo tomorrow, and a COL meet on Sunday, I just didn't think. :-\
He has also been ankle gnashing with a vengeance - I was out with Tia, and chatting to someone, when I happened to glance down and noticed my trousers were ripped at the ankle! >:D :lol2: He is also still humping his cushion, it's going to take a while before he isn't a Dougiebert Humpercushion any more. :005:
Thanks for showing me the right way to wear a babygro Sue, but Dougie is a boy, so he only wears it as bottoms! :005:
Yes, Dougie, just you go ahead and walk through the table instead of around it...
Look at that sneer. :005:
Excuse the paint-smeared masking tape along the skirtings, we're in the middle of decorating. ;)
-
Awww, how cute and how unimpressed does he look. :005: :luv:
Glad to hear he's more like his old, ankle gnashing self today. :D
-
He is so lovely.
-
Bless he looks so funny :luv: Pleased to hear he is back to normal
-
Poor little fellow. Telling everyone about his snip. He'll never live it down.
-
Thanks Fiona - this brought a much needed smile to my face!
Bless his little heart! He looks so cute and cuddly.

Aw Penny, I'm so glad we could make you smile. :luv: When I lost Gari, I was so pleased when I found a thread that I could be involved in, and it really helped me to move forward gradually. It's not easy, but one day at a time... :luv:
-
I saw this thread at work today, and must admit to sitting at my desk and chuckling aloud - but I've had to wait until I got home to be able to see the look of horror on poor little Dougie's face :005:
Henry is not allowed to look at the screen, as he will be sporting baby grows at some point this year too :lol2:
I'm glad that he was back to his normal nortiness of ankle gnashing today :D
-
Aww Dougie you poor boy with your mean mummy broadcasting your private life :005: :luv:. I think your boxers look great ;) xxxx
-
Awww poor Dougie!! I managed to miss all the drama, so am just catching the end, glad he is back to normal-ish. And I'm loving the look Dougie!! ;)

I meant to say last night, that we definitely need a pic of Monty in his babygro - so that Dougie isn't the only dog being laughed at! :005:
Awww poor Dougie!! I managed to miss all the drama, so am just catching the end, glad he is back to normal-ish. And I'm loving the look Dougie!! ;)
You'll be glad you missed it, and especially glad you didn't meet him on Thursday night, he seriously was going to bite us, he was like a wild animal, it was quite scary! ph34r I must admit, it was nice to hear his silly puppy-growl again yesterday as he gnashed my ankles! :lol2:
-
Poor Dougie. I love his face. he wants revenge, I reckon.
Whatever you do, Fiona, don't leave the camera where he can reach it. I think he will be posting some VERY embarrassing photos of you if he gets the chance! :005:
-
He almost did, Annette! ph34r I'd just switched my DS on while in bed (can't have the light on to read when OH is there), and Dougie jumped up at it to see what I was doing - and it took a photo of me from a terrible angle, lying half propped up with my glasses on and the biggest double chin I have ever seen! :o
I deleted it instantly! :lol2:
