Post by: oswaldann on April 17, 2010, 02:04:59 PM

Just my luck!, I sent of a blood sample and a cheek swab to Optigen and Antagene the day before the flying ban!

does anyone know how long samples last?

Can't remember where they are sent to, but they may have ended up going by rail. My OH sent a parcel up to his Mother in the Western Isles (of Scotland!) yesterday and she got it today. It would normally have gone by air, but was redirected by train and ferry (actually, I was quite impressed by the Royal Mail, who come in for stick so often ).

Excellent news, I think my Optigen took 1 week from the time they received the sample.  I had the e-mail to say sample received on the Tuesday, had the results following Tuesday and Certificate arrived the Tuesday after that, so a 2 week turn around which is excellent from start to finish.

Fingers crossed for your Optigen results.
