Yesterday Harvey was having a good hump of his toy teddy, now this morning my leg!? Is this normal for one so young? If so wish me luck for the furure
-
Totally normal! :005: Although, you may find he won't bother doing it again for a few months, Dougie humped at puppy class, but then didn't do it again until he was 10 months, when he became a major humper of male dogs and fleece jackets! :lol2:
Good luck, hope he stops soon! ;)

lol ok thankyou, will have to see how he goes :005:

Odie has never humped (he is now 6 months), what is the age where this may start??
-
I know one of the dogs on the park can do it when they're abit overwelmed. Maybe its a new home stress thing.
Dexter did it to his Mr sheep toy for the first few months and then stopped till about 6 months
-
Alfie did it a couple of times when he came home at 9 weeks then he has only done it about once since. Its just when they get excited i think- it doesnt mean anything when they are so young :005: xx

Brodie (female) started humping at eight weeks too :o :lol2:. She stopped doing it so often as she got older, but is sometimes tempted by a cushion or fluffy toy :005:
-
lol ok hopefully its an excitment thing and it will ease off soon :005:

Freddie did it on and off when he was 4-5 months but since 6 months it has become more of a regular thing. Now he is 8 months he spends 10 mins or so humping his bed in the living room in the evening and (to put it politely) proves that he could be a daddy dog iykwim!!! I just make sure I wash his bed regularly! Our puppy trainer said to ignore it unless he is using a human body part as the object of his affections! Trouble is, my 2 dds think it is hilarious. ph34r

My pup is now 10wks old, had him for 2 wks; he also started humping two of his soft toys at 8wks old. Hasn't done it quite so much in the last few days though, now that I think of it.
-
I really wouldn't worry about it ;)

Bella (now 8 months) has done this since she was tiny. She only does it when we are putting on or taking off our trainers...then she mounts your arm and it's very hard to dissuade her. She doesn't do it any other time! ::) :005: I think it's just the excitement of something she associates with a walk.. :005:
