Title: Getting the muddies used to a crate in the car
Post by: Mudmagnets on October 03, 2010, 06:57:10 PM
Recently I bought a new car, Now usually the muddies will sit on the back seat secured by their leads in case of accidents. The only problem being if Katie (or smudge) find something yuckie or wet to roll in. Mudpacks are Katie's favourite  ::)

So what I thought was get a crate and put the back seats forward and secure it to the car floor (I very seldom have more than one passenger.)

Do you folks think it might be a good idea to assemble the crate and sit it in the living room for a couple of days so they get used to it - leaving door open so they can wander in and out as they please. - or should I put it directly in the car and take them somewhere really nice on their first few journeys?

Any thoughts appreciated.

I would probably go for what you suggested. Put the crate in your home first, maybe feed them a few meals in there, and then put it in the car.
Do it with as little fuss as possible, just like it has always been there :D
I am sure they will be fine  :D

Why don't you try both  :D

It was just that once it is secured in the car, I don't really want to have to move it again, so wondered if I put it in the living room at first they would not be so alarmed when I put them in it in the car.

(Maybe it is me worrying too much  ph34r  :shades: )

Sorry I must have changed my original post just as you replied to my very short response ::)
I think your idea is perfect!

You are only worrying because you love them :D :luv:
