Hi just after a bit of advice. Over the last two weeks Milo (17 month working cocker) has been very quiet and going to his own bed (crate) about 8pm rather then sitting with us until we go to bed. He seems to spend a lot more time on his own anyone else experienced this with their cocker

Sam our now 11 year old working Cocker, likes his alone time, just likes to go and have a nap sometimes, generally he stays on the sofa with us, but sometimes just goes off :D
Our other dog Lily - Patterdale Terrier, does same, goes off into her crate for a bit :)
Will be interesting to see if other owners dogs do similar, who knows what goes through a Spaniels Mind, barmy as hell most of the time :)

Charlie or 5 year old cocker often goes off for quiet time in the evening.
Sometimes he even takes himself off to his upstairs bed about 9.00pm and he his not happy when we wake him to go out for his last pee.

Darcey goes to bed on her own I hardly have to tell her its bed time now. :005: she's 8/9 and an old lady well she's supposed to be but acts like a puppy sometimes too lol

My Weim is like this at the moment, she's also cold and feeling very sorry for herself and in her equifleece most of the time but we have this problem every year at this time - she eats bluebells whenever she gets an opportunity and makes herself ill :-\ I'm getting to the point this year that I'm considering putting a muzzle on her because she just doesn't seem to get that they make her ill and I'm finding it impossible to stop her getting them as they are in the garden and on all the walks around here. Is there a chance he could be eating something he shouldn't that possibly shows up at this time of year?

Cheers it's out of character for Milo as he likes to get on the sofa for cuddles etc. He is also normally hyperactive and this seems to have calmed (except when out walking) maybe he is just losing his stupid but loveable puppy ways :D

Not sure about him eating anything although he has been through the wars lately. He cut his paw open last week and was sick today. It would not surprise me if he did eat something as like most cockers he likes his food :005:

If he's been sick, it's very likely he's eating something - my Weim has been sick every few days for a couple of weeks because she's finding bluebell shoots and bulbs irresistible. In particular at this time of year it's bulbs that are the problem so I'd keep an eye on him. Bluebell poisoning can cause depression, a drop in body temperature, heart palpitation and vomiting - sometimes with blood so if he's displaying those symptoms that could well be what the problem is.... In large doses it can be fatal but this is rare - has similar toxic properties to foxglove..
