Can anyone give me some links for cheap Advocate please? With or without a script.
Thanks.

http://www.discountpetcare.co.uk/products.aspx?id=15&product=advocate_spot_on_ these seem really good and no prescription needed.

Even with postage the 3 pippete is £6.00 cheaper than my vet ;) Have to save that link I think, thanks Sharon.

Thanks Sharon. I'm going to check with my vet today as I don't know their prices. Will also see if OH had any left over from Berti.
They do look extremely good value there, though, thanks.

Advocate is a prescription only product, personally I would be cautious about buying it from somewhere that doesn't need a prescription.

I was wondering about that, though the site does look genuine, and the packaging is exactly the same :-\
Just a thought, that site seems to be American, maybe Advocate isn't scripted there :dunno:

I've never actually bought from this company, just know of breeder friends that have and they've been happy with the product.

Its a strange one, I have been looking online and some state prescription only and others don't????

I'm not sure this company is actually a UK operation - looks like the site is hosted in the Netherlands and this thread suggests some items are imported from S Africa via Barbados ph34r

Oh this is the company that I read about that supplies Optimmune really cheaply, but it's a generic brand made in India with a different name. I believe that was also sent from Barbados.
That's a crafty web company >:D

A friend ordered her Advocate from them, it arrived in less than a week, UK post mark, maybe they import it and send it out from their UK depots?
How much does Optimmune normally cost, it didn't seem that cheap on this website at £24.99??

When Tali first got diagnosed, the first course of action was Optimmune. My vet at the time was charging £60 for a tiny tube and the cheaper vets was charging £58. I searched the net looking for somewhere cheaper. I found posts on dog forums all over the World complaining of the price and found a couple of British forums where someone had used this company. The posters complained even though they had paid for Optimmune the named brand, they received something else in similar packaging. The manufacturing company was in India which wouldn't be bound by strict laws and the packets were sent from Barbados.
I chose not to purchase from them just incase the medicine wasn't kosher, especially for the eyes.
I saw a programme on tv about fake medicines and alot of them were sent from places like Barbados too.
Maybe not everything is bad from there but especially with eyes I wasn't prepared to risk it.

Vet UK, which I've used regular have it for £29.23 and you need a prescription.

Maybe but they're definitely not a registered UK pharmacy or even a registered UK trading company - there's also no information on the website about who runs the site compared with legitimate online pharmacy sites which usually give their registered pharmacy number, their company number and/or the names of their pharmacist/vet. It just looks like they have something to hide (or I'm very cynical :D)

Maybe prices have gone down for Optimmune, it is over a year ago now. My vets in Epsom charge £20 for a script, so it still would have cost £50 plus p&p per month, they won't do repeats, which wasn't much cheaper. Therefore this other company 'seemed' a good deal not requiring the script. VetUK are good, I've used them many times :D
Tali just has artificial tears now which is dirt cheap ;)
It's such a minefield with medicines, isn't it?

I got the advocate from them.
Doesn't seem to have done any harm, but I don't know whether it's done any good either :-\
There was a customs sticker on the envelope but not sure where it came from.
