Poor Jess was staying with her breeder last week as we were up north with the other dogs (Ollie is entire) and she started her first season. I picked her up on friday from the breeder and was told she'd caught her nail but that it was getting better. Over the weekend we kept an eye on it, but, she was licking it alot and it was oozing a little. Phoned the vets first thing (had spoken to the on saturday and they'd said keep it clean and see how she goes) got an appointment for half 10, they want to remove the nail, clean it out and give her anti-biotics. Poor pup :'(

Aww poor Jess, i hope the vet manages to get her nail sorted out quickly and she is back home with you asap. Give her a gentle squidge from me :luv: :luv:

OH has just picked Jess up, she has a cone on but no dressing?! what will I do for walks?! ( I mean trips into the garden for a wee!)

:bigarmhug: for you and Jess

Hope Jess's foot is better soon. :luv:
If its just for the garden I would just put a plastic bag on secured with tape. I found though that Poppy didn't like walking with it on so ended up hobbling on 3 legs, but it was only for going to the loo. We tried putting a sock on for her to sleep, but it was always off by the next morning :005:

plastic bag for wee's etc and as much air as possible to help it heal ;)
I don't want to tempt fate but you may want to invest in a blow up collar with 2 cockers - I know you'll have a spay soon so it may be a good investment (I just hate the cones of shame, they seem to affect the dog more than their injuries do :-\ ) Amazon have them quite cheap ;)

hope Jess is back to normal soon :luv:

we will, we decided to let her have a season first, shes still very puppyish! I was thinking of getting one of those, as you said with 2 daft cockers you just never know! I wish the vets stocked the comfy collars instead of the cone of shame, she keeps battering me and everyone! My GSD is scared to walk past her as she keeps getting hit :005:
Shes feeling better today, less of a limp than before she went into the vet

I'm glad she's feeling a bit better today :luv: :luv:
