So after explaining to mum that using a newspaper, squeezing the dogs muzzle so it bites itself are really not acceptable methods of training we decided to get a 1 2 1 trainer in and explain some better method didn't involve old school methods. Her name was Junnita Smith Millie was a bit suspicious of the stranger at first but Junnita won her over after about half an hour to a mutural respect we now have a better understanding of her and she is far less agressive now then she was say 2 and a half months a go. I put it down to mainly diet rather then mums methods recomended by her friends -.-
she was on pedigree for a long time and when I switched her to wainwrites that seemed to agree with her the best no upset tums or abnormal stools. Been attempting switching her to RAW as I know a lot more about it but had drawbacks at first as no one says anything that chicken wings should be supplemented with meat to avoid hard and painfull stools (its all in the balance)
looking into training classes now as she is really confident at last around other dogs ive put it off till now as she was petrified of other dogs would run away with her tail between her legs and actually scream! But now she invites them for a play even a large labradoodle made a good playmate for her, I think she likes labradores and spaniel type dogs the best ^_^
I am happy to say we don't use the old methods anymore since the trainer came and Millie has come out of her shell so much no longer agressive to us she still bites though mainly through excitement during play ill have to post some piccies of her soon. Whenever anyone meets Millie they all ways say how happy she looks :>

Hey, that sounds positive
and you and Millie will
enjoy your classes! ;)
Although I'm sure BARF diet
is ace we don't do it but as
you know loads of folk on here
do and they can help with
advice for that.

I hope so I didn't want to go before as she was so shy at first and no matter how many dogs we introduced her too she was all ways frightened of them but not anymore :> she is still weary of some but doesn't run in fear anymore.
She is getting better with strangers to she loves the company of people all ways wags her tail but doesn't like the strangers touching her. She's a funny thing she will run up to people she likes the look of and jump up but will run back to us when they try and stroke her she seems to know the doggy people ^^'

Have you had a look at any
books or websites that show you
how doggies talk to each other.
It's really interesting when you
know what they are saying to
each other.
I like the small book;On talking
terms with dogs;Calming signals by
Turid Rugaas.

I have read some sites on dog behaviour ive got a few I have a fair idea of what means means when it comes their languege but it suprises me just often people mistake a snarl/growl for a grin! No wonder people (especially kids) get bittern by dogs. Its been provern in the past that children often missunderstand K9 behavior which is why i think it should be taught in science or as a seperate subject.
