Title: Forum Upgrade
Post by: stueymac on February 23, 2005, 11:00:47 AM
The forum has been upgraded to the latest version of the software. There may well be teething troubles initially. If you notice anything unusal or have problems with the forum please post on this thread and we'll get round to looking into the issues as soon as possible.

Regards
Stuart

I know about this, is the rest of the homepage viewable ok with the exception of the bottom right hand corner?

Sent a pm and went into 'sent messages' to check it had gone and it was'nt there so resent it and it still was'nt showing     Had another to send to someone else so tried again, but still no luck?  Is it me doing something wrong (probably!) or is there a problem?

When I pressed send the message came up that it would be delivered etc, but did'nt show the name of who it was going to as it used to ?

As I have been typing this a reply has come through from my first pm so it obviously worked, but not showing in the 'sent folder'?  (Hope this makes sense!)

Sue - I've sent you a test PM. Did you tick the box at the bottom to ask for a copy of your messager to be saved to your sent messages box? If not - that'll be why you couldn't see a copy of it.

Let me know if you get my message or not.

It may have been held in your computers cache. The way to check is to "refresh" the page and see if it loads. Also you could delete your temporary internet files. That way your browser will have to get a new page on a fresh session and not try to trick you with what it's rememebred from last time ;)

I tried all those things and it still gave me the same error. I even rebooted and tried again :(  So I gave up - came back two hours later - and hey presto it worked!!

Hi, When entering the site or after refreshing the page the ipb logo lights up to tell me that there are unread or new posts when I've already read it!! Not all of them, and not always the same ones!! That sounds as clear as mud!! Is this a common problem, or just me?!

This does happen to me as well, I've yet to explain why! Could be cookie related or there could be posts much further down the thread tree which are unread and it me be picking up on those. You could try clicking the 'delete all cookies set by this board' button (bottom right hand corner) but that may stop you from seeing the new posts icon illuminated for a period until the cookies restore themselves.

Regards
