Betsy from a wee small puppy has been eating her poo. She doesn't do it so often now, now that we have managed to get her to go outside most of the time, but when she does it indoors, she eats her poos.
I've come across M&C Stool Repel-UM Coprophagia Aid, which I bought on-line from www.pet-supermarket.co.uk. Puppies and dogs take 1 tablet per 10kg of bodyweight daily for 2 weeks after coprophagia is first observed. It is supposed to taste like Chicken. I am going to try it on her for a couple of weeks, hopefully this will work, but they say that feeding a good diet, which I already do (Hills VetEssentials for Puppies) and to increase exercise too.
I hope that this will work and will report back to you in 2 weeks' time. Betsy should then be free of coprophagia. >:D >:D >:D

Have you tried putting a little bit of pineapple in her food Lizzie?? Phoebe has been eating her own poo but not as much just lately I think and hope she is growing out of it >:( My beloved poppy used to do it too but once again grew out of it. Good luck with your Betsy x x x

Yes Dianne, I have tried pineapple with her food, and the next time she ate her poo!! I tried her on the pineapple for a week or so, perhaps I should have done it for longer, but thought a week would be enough. The pineapple juice was gorgeous!! :005: :005: :005:
Thanks for the help Dianne, you are a true COL'er!! :clapping::clapping::clapping:

Just wondering whether you found these tablets worked? We've tried everything we can think of with Bear to get him to stop poo eating and so far nothing works. I'm really struggling with it and am pregnant so the combination of morning sickness and a puppy that smells of poo every time he tries to lick me is really not good! :020: :020: :020:

The dog I had with my ex girlfriend used to eat cat poo from the litter tray, we had to get a covered litter tray to stop the wee b***** from getting at it when we weren't around to stop her!
I still caught her numerous times with her head stuck through the flap of the cover trying to get at it! haha
Such a gross subject!

We're getting good reports on the M&C Stool Repel-UM, also the Phytopet mix.
However they only work to prevent them eating their own poos and not everyone elses. We were having a real problem with Jasper and cat poo and came to the conclusion that the added cat litter in it was the cause to the ongoing problems he's been having lately! I'm yet to find a good solution for these type of problems

Oh I do wish there was something available to stop them eating other dogs poo, Hattie drives me mad with this, I'm considering taking something nasty tasting out with me in a spray bottle so i canspray the poo when I manage to get her a way from it as she has been known to run back a quite distance for a snack. :020:
