Hello all,
Thought I ought to introduce myself as I've been busy reading through all the useful info on your site and want to say thank you for being such a great resource for people looking to give a cocker a home and doing our homework first!
I live in Jersey, Channel Islands with my husband and our two British blue shorthair cats. My parents are the ones looking to take on a cocker spaniel now they are retired and have time to put in. However, me and Richard will be helping out as much as we can as it's just not possible for us to have a dog of our own given we both work full time. Mum and Dad split their time between here and their house in Brittany so pooch will be getting a passport and going along with them apart from when they go caravanning and if they're only away for the weekend in which case we'll be dog sitting!
Due to various commitments meaning my folks will be away quite a lot from April till the end of August the new pup will most likely be along in the Autumn.

Hi and welcome to COL. Odie was my 1st puppy although both me and my husband had had various dogs within our families over the years. I have to say that without COL, I would not have survived the first few months. I'd done a ton of research (my husband's grandparents had a golden cocker years previously) but nothing could have prepared me for just how demanding a little pup could be! Odie did have separation anxiety problems in the beginning which in turn led to other challenging issues but the good thing about this site is, there is always someone there to help and advise you or someone who has experienced the same thing. Being prepared for any potential problems is key and it's good that there will be lots of help on hand :lol2:
Good luck in your search, the pup will be a lucky little thing, holidaying in France :luv: Lesley
