Well now I know why workers have shorter ears than Show Type !!!
The farmers around here have been"thrashing" or whatever they call it, the hedge rows and there are twigs and branches everywhere !!! Cass got caught in a hedge by her ears which, would have been funny if I could have got her out easily !!! What a wimp she is !!!!! AND then I turned to see her dragging a bush from her tail..... that was even worse to disentangle
Ah well what will tomorrow bring...... a whole tree lol !

Probably :005: :005: x x x

Know where you`re coming from..... Cupar is one for foraging in bushes etc on walks and always coming out with thorny twigs sticking to his belly and ears. Nightmare to get off sometimes >:D but hey dogs will be dogs eh

Taz hasnt had a decent walk if he isnt covered in folage :005: :005: We call it his "jewelry"
I think his record has been about 2000 bobby buttons or the thin branch that went across his chest, under his belly, round his tail and back under his belly >:D >:D with thorns

Love the term Jewelry !!
Well the morning she stayed jewelry free , don't know who was more surprised me or Cass

I always know when Odie has acquired some "jewellery" :lol2: as he'll stop still and look at me as if to say "come on mum, get it off me" :005:

I take small scissors and gloves
in my pocket for the removal of
brambles etc on a walk.

Taz rarely seems to notice he has anything attached. Even just a leaf hanging off him annoys OH, so he spends most of the walk pulling bits off. I tend to remove the big bits, or bits that are going to knot his coat, then sort the rest out later.

Somehow Murph doesn't seem to get much debris stuck on him, but Indy is like a magnet for twigs, leaves and soldiers buttons usually on his ears, under his chest and in his hair around his little boy bits (as my mother calls them). This morning they were both in the bushes Murph came out fine, Indy had a twig about 12 inches long trailing from his tail, some dried thistle leaves in his ears and a great big bread bun in his mouth. >:(

Charlie does this too, he refuses to move until I've removed the offending articles, sometimes it will only be a leaf :005:
Dexter doesn't care, he'll carry on with half a hedgerow trailing off him :lol2:

William and Louis always come home with New Forest bracken, heather and twigs in their coats and then spend a while grooming themselves and pulling the vegetation out with their teeth and spitting it out on the floor :lol2:. It's the reason why I never vacuum until after their morning walk.
But gorse is the worst. If either of them gets gorse stuck in their paws or coats they come to me for help immediately and I have to pull the gorse out. Ouch :005:.

I felt awful today...........when we got home from our afternoon walk I found a long piece of thorn stuck in Cassies back paw just above her pad. It must have hurt and I never noticed her try and attract my attention which she will normally do.... I am so BAD, I may have to be banned !!!!! :'(

Brilliant!
I think that all the fluff cockers have is completely stupid for a dog bred to flush out game from undergrowth! I know workers are less hairy but some of them still have quite fluffy ears!
