Probs a daft question but is it only liver coloured working cockers that have tufts on there heads as I haven't seen many oter colours that have it and I don't think brodie going to have one!
-
My parents-in-law have a black worker and she has a tuft which I describe as a bit of a mohican!!! It is bang in the middle of her head and sticks up no matter what you do to it.
Maybe its the same thing as you have but I think it is quite cute really.
-
Max had a mohican, and Bertie has a parting :005: Black working boys :luv:
-
Paddy - black wcs yes. Fergus orange roan wcs no. :D
-
I think Most people call it a top knot ;) daisy is a gold show type, and she would have one if I didn't cut it off because I prefer her without it, but I have seen other cockers that look gorgeous with their top knot full and flowing. :005:
-
So does it all depend on if there parents have one?
-
Our black workers has just started to grow and he is 5 months old he didn't have it when he was smaller.
-
Ahh so hopefully Brodie might grow one :)
-
Freya is a black working type and hers is still tiny but growing! Shes now nearly three and it started to appear at about 2, so I look forward to it blossoming

Haha I hope Brodie gets one ASAP lol just been talking to the breeder I bought her off and she said most if the pups should have one do fingers crossed ;)
-
Woody has got one, he's a golden working cocker and i love it! i think they look so cute ;) He's had his since about 5 months (he's nearly 7 months now)
-
nerys has one - she is a golden working/show cocker :luv:
-
Florie has one- she's a blue roan show type...she also has bushy bits at the side of her face that stick out and look like warthog horns :005:
-
all my boys are show type...but as you can probably see from my avatar they all have quite substantial top knots :luv:
it took until they were all about 9-10 months before they started to sprout and then they came through with a vengeance, must be the hormones ;)
not sure about workers whether they would be the same
-
Tilly our Blue Roan show type has a top knot...and i love it. Erin who is black show type has never had one.
-
Our Charlie black/white working cocker has a top knot. Just like a gremlin.
-
Our Pebbles, show type, has one. Only started growing at about 8/9 months. She was trimmed yesterday and I, actually, asked for it to be thinned out but not taken off completely as dd calls it her kisscurl and would be devastated if it wasn't there :D
-
Both my show types (chocolate and orange roan) have top knots. The choccy boys grows wild when he hasn't been clipped in a while!
-
I have to admit I prefer Tilly when th top of her head s all sleek and smooth, but my daughter likes the top not so we've compromised and it's just a 1" tuft!

OH and I have also compromised over Charlies, I love it he hates it, so as with Tilly its a small tuft.
-
Our Charlie is a liver working cocker and has a topknot which turns into a beautiful golden/red streaked mane when bleached by the sun in the summer (when we get a summer!).
-
Charlie my B&W boy doesn't have one, his head is smooth.
Dexter my blue roan has a sort of side top knot going on above his ears, it gets trimmed at the groomer but when it grows out it makes him look like a mad professor :005:
-
Rolo, our chocolate working cocker pup is only 7 weeks old and still with the breeder at the moment but you can already see that he has a lighter patch of hair on the top of his head. I think this is where his top knot is going to grow. His mum has a huge one! :005: He he i think its cute but my OH doesn't like it!
-
Neither of my two have them, I like them and was hoping Molly might have had one as shes a bit hairier than bella, but no.
Think you should all put pictures up because I like them
-
I was thinking that some photos might be nice :luv:
-
did someone say photos of topknots .... :shades:
Toby's @ 10 months ....coming along very nicely & definitely getting lighter, bleached by the sun :luv:

I couldn't say the girls have 'topknots' though - if Livies get's too long it just goes into a parting ph34r & Purdey & Tinkers fur just grows en-mass, with no specific tuft on top :dunno: ;)
-
If you want to post photos please start a thread on one of the photo boards rather than on here, thanks!

Dexter has a mad top knot going on at the moment, he is a show blue roan and tan - he is getting his first trim and tidy up on Monday! Don't want it totally cutting off just tidying up a bit! :luv:
