Title: Kitty Problem
Post by: Sue67 on May 23, 2012, 08:58:47 PM
Indy posted the other day about nextdoors cat winding her up.  :lol2:

The problem has escalated somewhat with the warm weather, I always leave the kitchen door open and last night and tonight the cat's actually sneaked in to the kitchen when we've been in the other room.

Both Indy and the cat, galloping on the spot, trying to get traction on laminate is somewhat reminiscent of a Tom & Jerry cartoon, Indys' screaming, barking and the cat's yowling as it's trying to escape has to be heard to be believed.  :o

Indy then spends a furious 10 minutes patroling, huffing and puffing and she's really cross.  >:D

Last night DS came in the door as both Indy and Kitty were attempting to vacate and nearly took his legs from under him.

Will this bloody cat keep trying to come into the kitchen? Are they really that inquisitive or just stupid? I'm a bit worried if Indy does actually catch it.

I doubt very much whether Indy will catch it - despite their stupid appearance cat are rather clever.  My cat torments the life out of my two dogs and they have only managed to catch her once (in 4 years) when she managed to corner herself, fortunately they didnt do any harm.

I have been working really hard on calling them away from her when she is tormenting, with a reward.  They are getting really good now unless she runs then we also get the "tom & jerry" action, with Taz screaming behind her.

I would think the cat will get bored and stop coming into your house soon , if its got any sense it will stay away , i have a cat coming in thru the cat flap late at night and eating my old cats food if i forget to lift it , i wouldnt mind but occasionally i get up to the stink of spraying  >:D

Depends on the personality of the cat - if it's a scaredy cat it won't come; one of mine loves being chased though and spends much of the day winding the dogs up so they'll chase her >:D

We have a stray cat that keeps sneeking into the house Harvey goes balistic when he hears, sees or smells it and  then he dashes of down the garden after it, As yet he has never caught it unfortunately, as it keeps on spraying in our house >:D
