Dennis is feeling sorry for himself this morning , we went out for a walk yesterday and when getting out of the car noticed blood on the floor, checked the dogs and it seemed to be coming from dens foot. It looked like it was the tip of his nail so I put him to bed for a rest. Later he struggled to walk being very wobbly anyway on his back end because of his spine problems it isn't helping having a sore foot as he cant walk on three legs.
I've had a closer look and it looks like the bloods coming from his pad , I can't see anything in it ?
Is there anything I can do to draw anything that could be in it out?

sorry to hear this and no advice other than a trip to the vets if you cannot work out what is causing it :'(

If he had a grass seed in it, it would work it's way in, not out. So unless you can see a cut causing the bleeding it might be best to pop him to a vet.

I suspect he's cut it and drawing ointment is not designed for open cuts. Could it be a damaged nail?

I think the blood on his nail could have been a drop from the pad. Looking at it I think it's more likely that he's been on uneven ground and because of the way he walks I think he's just grazed his pad. It's still sore but better than yesterday.
