Title: worming
Post by: Pudding on July 31, 2012, 02:21:23 PM: i need to order some worming tablets for Bob... need to keep on top of it as he is Raw Feed (barf)
we use Drontal Plus... what do you use?? are there any better ones these day

That's interesting Jane as I think those can be bought without prescription for much cheaper than the vet selling millbemax :003:

Jacqui I bought a few of the bone shaped ones. I think they were £1.63 each.

I would use Milbemax over Drontal any day given the effect it had on Jarvis the last time I used it :020: :fear2:

Same here. Poor Wills definitely has "dire-rear" and vomiting if he has Drontal :020: but is fine with Milbemax.

Ive given riley the syrup three times (once that day he brought up tiny bit food) but was otherwise fine.
Then last month I gave him the drontal bone shaped tablet in two halves and was fine.

Post by: bondie on August 05, 2012, 05:44:37 PM: Our experiences are just the opposite - James was poorly-sick after milbemax, but our vet said that it was just co-incidence. Next time he was given Milbemax, he was SO poorly - sickness, lethargy, dia-wotsits, not eating, not drinking etc. had to be re-hydrated...... again vet said it was unusual for milbemax to be the culprit. This time I wormed him with drontal - no problem what so ever, so the conclusion..? It depends on the dog, but be alert to possible problems!!!!!
