Title: cocker needs splastic bag on bandaged paw

Hi

Can anyone help?
My dog has a bandaged paw/leg and needs a plastic bag on to allow him to go outside in wet weather.

I have tried everything. His paw is sore and he will not let me touch it.

I know you can buy dog boots but they are all online and would take time to arrive.
 
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Our vet gave us drip bags - you know from saline drips? they washed them out and then made holes in the top and  threaded some bandage/string through for us to tie them with. They worked really well but did go into holes if we walked Roxy too far when she had her splint on.

I used an old sock and wound duct tape around it.  I had to reinforce the bottom as it wore out after a couple of walks.

We literally just tied a doggy poo bag on her paw each time Ruby went in the garden. It would only last for one trip, then we just threw it away.
Then I ordered some proper ones ready for next time  ;)

We have managed to get a plastic bag on him and covered it with insulation tape.
This was very difficult and took three of us, so my next question, can I leave this on for a couple of days?

Marley has these drip bags too.  They work really well.
I wouldn't leave the bags on for long though as I have noticed condensation building up inside them.  I just use the bags when the ground is wet and then straight off and dried.  :D

I wouldn't.  I removed Charleys "booties" after his walk.

We have found an easier way with him. My husband now picks him up and I use a poop bag with a strip of Velcro around the top.
I take off after walk.

He had an anesthetic and he is on antibiotics but he has not pooped for 34 hours, usually once or twice per day,
do you think this is the normal.

Be the way it was grass seed that had to be removed.
