Title: has anyone tried 'Dog Gone Pain' for arthritis
Post by: carol pearson on August 24, 2012, 10:16:32 AM
Ozzy has slight arthritis but also a sensitive stomach and glucosamine seems to upset him.
I have read a few good reviews for Dog Gone Pain and wondered if anyone had tried them.

I haven't tried that, but I'd recommend extract of green lipped muscle. Our 10 year old dog got arthritis and they kept her going for 3 years before we had to resort to metacam.

Not tried that, but devil's claw or turmeric might help, also fish oil or coconut oil. (Green lipped mussel contains glucosamine by the way).

Not heard of that one, I'm going to buy turmeric for my dog with hip dysplasia though, I have heard great results from it for dogs with arthritis

Yes, Tilly takes these and they seem good; her joints are too far gone for supplements to make much of a difference now, she's on daily Tramadol and Prednoleucotropin to manage pain, but I figure they can't do any harm and they're all natural.

I have a couple of sample packets in my office desk drawer, it contains Marine Collagen Extract, Boswellia Extract, Corydalis Root, Wheatgrass, Turmeric, Feverfew Extract and Celery Seed Extract as well as a 'proprietory blend' of Mucopolysaccharide Complex, Malt Extract, Wild Rosella, Capsicum Extract, Aniseed Myrtle and Mountain Pepper and a 'proprietory enzyme blend' of Bromelian and Papain.

Sorry, didn't think of that!
