I'm looking for some help, hints or tips on how to deal with Pearl out on walks!
She's now 16 months+ and has had some health issues over the last six months which have affected her energy levels and I think confidence?
Most of the time she's great. She does seem a bit reserved compared to the other cockers we walk with but will play with them for most of the walk. Then we have the ankle/grabbing/ Jeans nipping phase [which occasionally misses and she gets my ankle >:(] - it's never bad enough to say its aggressive though and most folk around just think its funny.
This afternoon, out walking with just Mr B - as we do most weekends - she once again started grabbing my trouser leg. Normally right leg/ankle but she will go for the left too....
She does do this in the house too - especially if she' excited. The cats are not immune from it either!
Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this and found a solution? Am I doing something wrong? Most of the time I ignore her when she does it, then reward her for the next good behaviour so she gets positive attention. I'd really value your wisdom on other methods/training techniques etc...
thanks,
Jayne

Ozzie does it sometimes when she is excited and walking to heel. We just say a a in a firm voice and she stops or ask her to sit and it makes her think of something else.

thanks Sarah - I do say no when she starts but I'll try the sit command next time to see what she does....
Are you walking next Sunday? would you like some company? [ankle nipper too...]
