I realised today that I am a real worrier when it comes to my puppy. He was sick earlier and I jumped to all sorts of conclusions (it was probably because he played a lot straight after eating). He weeed inside (hasn't done that for nearly 3 weeks) and decided he must have a bladder infection (probably just me not taking him out for ages). He's now zonked and I'm assuming he's now under-the-weather (despite the fact that he had 3 huge plays with other puppies today and the fact that he always sleeps most of the evening). Sometimes he doesn't walk on the lead (just stops) and I worry he's got some massive behavioural problem. He scratches himself and I worry he's got some awful skin allergy. He wanted to come up on the sofa tonight (only usually does that in the mornings) so I worry he's not feeling well (it could be that it's got colder and he just likes it!).
Do other people worry all the time about their puppies? I need reassurance that I'm not the only one!!

Perfectly normal Cocker puppy owner paranoia :lol2: :luv:

I'm am soooo glad I'm not the only one. I am always worrying. It's not just Archie though, I've been the same with all my previous dogs. I wouldn't like to guess at the number of vets visits that have begun with me saying "it's probably nothing". :shades:

You are definately not alone. Tilly sneezed yesterday and ma first thought was..oh kennel cough (it doing its rounds) but more likely the fact that she had demolished a stuffed toy and there was fluff everywhere and probably just tickled her nose and Erin seemed a little stiff after getting out her bed earlier....ma thought...oh no..I hope she not got arthritis or a disc problem...i constantly poop watch for any change in consistency/colour/amount then convince myself they have either ate something they should not have or have some sort of blockage :005:
I think its just because we care....or paranoid...or both lol

Willow is 21 months now and im still a worrier although not quite as bad as I was when she was under a year. I have to say looking back I was such a worrier I missed the joy of her puppy hood if that makes sense. I'd like to think if I was ever lucky enough to get a second I would be more chilled but probably not :-\

Brodie's four and I still get like this :005:. I lost my last cocker suddenly, completely out of the blue, so the slightest sign that anything is wrong with Brodie and I start panicking ph34r. It doesn't help that she is a total drama queen, she doesn't cope at all when she is feeling even slightly ill.

oh yes same defo :luv:

The other night i walked past Bingley and he didn't lift his head to watch where i was going like he usually does.
i was immediately sure he had some sort of eye problem ph34r or had become blind in the space of 5 minutes ph34r

Sophie, you are definitely not alone! We worry constantly whether Ozzy is ok - if you've looked at the Health section today you'll see I've posted yet another worried question!!! Having had two GRs with health problems, we are expecting the worst with Ozzy, although we did think that by changing breeds, that hopefully we would be 'third time lucky'!! OH is actually worse than me!

We are terrible, Alex coughs if he eats too quick or runs a lot..... Hubby is adamant he has a heart condition.
(google isn't always good :005:)
If he sleeps a lot I'm worried he's unwell
It's worse than having babies lol

Another worrier here, I have to say though I didnt worry half as much with my second pup than I did with Otto
-
Oh yes, I am a terrible worrier too.
I was dreadful with Charlie always googling things and thinking the worse. When I got Dexter I was determined not to worry, it lasted 2 days he slept in and was sniffly - I went into panic overload, he had probably reacted to a change in environment but I was convinced he had all sorts. I calmed down a bit when they got to 6 months and again at a year. I do still worry about them, I just don't panic as much as when they were tiny pups ;)

Oh gosh im a worrier in general. I dread to think what i will be like when our little pups is with us!
Im on a waiting list and the mum is due on the 19th but has a habit of going early and having big litters. Im worried already and pup isnt born and im worried about mum! Oh dear. It must get better right??
I hope you worry less soon!

Don't worry all the time, at least I'm sure I sleep in piece :005:
I guess that's something else we have in common, Cocker's apart. We should all be nervous wrecks with all this worry :005: :005: it's good to get to work sometimes and not worry so much ;)
Perhaps there should be some sort of benevolent fund set up for wrecked Cocker owner's :005: :005: :005:
