Title: Poor Flo
Post by: Clare B on October 08, 2012, 09:27:55 AM
Flo was at the vets again today, she has had appalling breath for the last couple of days!!! Turns out she had a molar which was growing inwards and had caused an infection in her gums... Molar now removed and she's overnight at the vets with an injection of antibiotics and plenty of pain killers.  More worrying through is Tgat it appears she has yet another urinary tract infection, I have been strict with her special urinary health diet, and vet and I are puzzled as ti how her has another infection.  May be silly thinking and will run it by the vet tomorrow, but perhaps the bacterior in her mouth from the molar has transferred to her toush from her licking down there ... Very worried, don't want her to develop bladder stones again.

Poor Flo :luv:. My William had 2 decayed molars removed recently at the same time as having some eye surgery and he recovered very quickly from both. The dental work didn't seem to cause him any problems with eating afterwards.

I hope Flo recovers quickly from the dental work and UTI. Fingers crossed for no further UTIs or bladder stones.

Poor little girl, that certainly makes sense, that she could have spread the infection by licking herself, hope the antibiotics make her feel better very soon  :bigarmhug:

:bigarmhug:'s for Flo... hope the op goes ok and they can sort out the UTI.  I wonder whether the gum infection even internally could've somehow contributed to the UTI if she's just been feeling pretty groggy/run down.
Gentle squidges for your girl and hugs for you... horrid at any time to see them poorly, but especially with all the upheaval you're going through.
xx
