Title: Snow nose?
Post by: Archie bean on November 12, 2012, 11:20:35 PM
Archie used to have a lovely, dark, chocolatey brown nose but over the last month or so it has been getting lighter and lighter - verging on pink at the edges! I've had a little google search and there seems to be something called snow or winter nose where the pigment gets paler in the winter but then darker again in the spring. Has anyone else come across this?

Happens in light coloured dogs, My monty's nose is a very pale pink all over. He is Lemon coloured.
Louie Gold is starting to change a bit too.

it's more dramatic in dogs that have black pigmented noses - those that carry the liver gene have brown/pink noses anyway  ;)
