Lumps under eyes and on bridge of nose
« on: January 24, 2013, 10:08:34 PM »
Hello fellow COL'ers,

Just wondering if any of you had come across this before. Fudge (5 months) has had some lumps come up on the bridge of his nose which then move to under his eyes. They came up during the day a couple of days ago - they don't appear to bother him but they look sore even though they are not. We took him to the vet yesterday and £30 later she gave him some anti inflammatory and antibiotic and said it was probably a reaction to something he was sniffing whilst out on one of his walks.

True enough, this morning he was fine but at about 5 o'clock this afternoon they came back up again.  It is now 10 o'clock and they have gone again. We will monitor him until tomorrow morning and if they come back we will take him back to the vet.

Anybody had any symptoms like this with any of their dogs?

Many thanks

Dave (and Fudge)

Hi

We had this with Maddie a couple of months ago. Looked awful but the vet said it was just a reaction to something. He told us to give Piriton for 5 days and they should go. They did, but it was about a week. Strange thing was they kept coming up and going back down in different places. Two weeks later Ebony had the same thing. Never did find out what it was, but they did go and it didn't cause any lasting damage. Hope this reassures you a bit.  :bigarmhug: for Fudge.

Morning fellow COL'ers

With an absence for a month the dreaded lumps have suddenly come back again - here are a couple of photos of Fudge taken after his pre brekky bimble this morning. They were on the bridge of his nose when he woke up this morning. I don't think they are anything to worry about and like Ebbysmum said they look hideous but are not sore to the touch. I am trying to narrow it down and I have a feeling it could be something he is sniffing that he is having a reaction to.

Reason for re-posting is to show the photos of what it looks like and also to see if anybody may have found that their dog had an allergic reaction to something and managed to narrow it down to a particular item.

I know all dogs are different and I may be clutching at straws but if we can avoid something in particular then that would help. In the meantime I will monitor and if they don't disappear then it is back to the vet!

He has had a few extra cocker cuddles this morning!  :bigarmhug:

Thanks all.

Dave
