Halti heaven...
« on: August 26, 2013, 02:58:11 PM »
After trying a non pull harness which was a waste of time..Me and my steam train have progressed to a Halti, I can not believe the difference it has made (so far) we have just enjoyed two lovely walks. I just hope it keeps doing its job. She took to it within a few minutes. The fit seem to make a big difference. The first one seemed to have more room under her chin but she was able to get it into her mouth. The size down was a neat fit but she was able to open her mouth hang her tongue out. So we took that one and she seem happier in the smaller one. She is 9 months now so don't know if her face and nose will grow much more, maybe it will stretch a bit with wear. Anyway she is not pulling at it so it must be comfortable enough. Fingers crossed our pulling days are over

We used a Halti on our old cocker when she was young as she used to pull so much I worried about the damage to her little neck, we did use it for several years, stopped at about five I think, they are fab and seem much kinder than a collar, our Lab puppy went through about six, he worked out how to pull it off with his front paws and chew it if we wern't quick enough putting it back on lol. hope you have continued success with it. xx

I swear by Haltis!  I've used them for 2 GRs and also for Ozzy, although Ozzy does still try to pull a bit, but not a lot.  I know some say that once you use them you can't go back to a normal collar and lead, but we have done with both our GRs when they were 3 or 4, and will probably do the same with Ozzy when he's learnt not to pull.

I have become a Halti convert I really don't care how long I have to use it. I wish I had of started earlier. Lexi was just so excitable when going for a walk she was in no state to listen to anyone. But this is a major improvement she is not sniffing the ground as much either and is generally quieter long may it last....
