Charlie update!
« on: January 09, 2014, 05:21:38 PM »
I posted 'new and advice' on Tuesday re Charlie and pulling on lead and games for indoors.  Just thought I'd give a little update as we just had a rather exciting walk :)

We met a 2 year old girl Cocker in the little park by our house, no-one else in there as not anything but a bit of green space.  The owner was happy for me to let Charlie off the lead with her girl and said she would help if he didn't come back.  They ran round in circles for a good 15 minutes.  Charlie was giving happy barks, I have never heard him bark before and it was so sweet, he is going to be shattered later.  He did come back to my call… just!  I had to grab him quick when he did, but he did come back.  Just kept it short and sweet but he was so happy playing with another dog it really spurs me on to do something more about it.

I think the next step is practising recall in the garden so I will read the recall thread as suggested.

He is currently playing with his new puzzle ball of which I have put in half of his tea.

What a nice end to the day :)

Oh and at 5 months he is as big as the two year old but he has longer legs!

I always think. Emagin if everyone only had cockers. Coz sometimes I meet a few springers together and there's total mayhem, they play so rough together tails waging, who can jump over who's head the highest and run the fastest it's so funny
