Learning new things at kennels
« on: March 17, 2014, 02:28:50 PM »
Such a silly thing - but so exciting. Blue was left overnight at kennels last night for the first time, where he obviously got to observe all kinds of doggie behaviour. Today at home, I have just seen him cock his leg for a wee for the first time!!  :lol2:

Honestly, I felt as chuffed as if it were my child's first steps  :005:

I suspect my friends would think I'm a saddo, but I just know you COLs will get it!

Definitely understand!  ;)
I texted Trev both times my 2 boys did their first cocked leg wee - luckily he is as mad as me and texted back "That's my boy!"

However, Dexter is 3 and Alfie is 18 months and they both still squat from time to time.   :005:  I put it down to watching Suki and Poppy - along with the "can't be bothered attitude!"
Penny,   Dexter (cavalier x poodle), Alfie (Whippet cross)  and  Maximus the cocker spaniel!!

RIP my 2 most gorgeous cocker girls - Buffy and Harriet - both waiting for me at the bridge. Joined by my beloved Josie taken too soon and Suki aged 13 :(

Am I weird then because I like it that Rolo still squats (he's nearly 2) - he's tried cocking his leg once or twice and nearly fell over and then wee'd all over Molly's head!

Whenever he tries cocking his leg, Molly gets underneath to see what he's doing and tries to nip him you know where! No wonder he still squats!

Well done Blue...such a big boy. Can I just add that our old dog used to cock HER leg to wee! We never knew how she learnt it as our other dog was a female too and she only went in kennels when she was 13 yrs old.
