Peeing on walks?

So Chester is somewhat toilet trained, still a few accidents in the house when he gets excited but normally he's pretty good. Something we just can't get is getting him to pee when we're out on walks?? We walk him for around 10-15 minutes and we say the magic word of wee wees but nope, nothing then we take him into the garden straight away cause we know he needs to pee and he pees insantly!

Any advice? Does it just come with time? (He is 12 weeks old)

Mine did this when he was about 6 months old (now 17 months old).

He only did wee/poo in my garden and not on walks, but after a while he just started to do it. I think mine was unsure he was doing it in the right place.
As soon as he did do his business away from the garden, I gave him lots of praise and a treat. I think he just needed that extra reassurance that it was ok to do it in the garden or on a walk.

This will probably sound odd..., have you thought of taking some of his Poo with you on a walk ( wee a bit difficult ) dropping it somewhere suitable for him to smell, it might just do the trick.

When Bea was a pup I didn't clear up after her straight away in the garden, she would then smell where she last went and do it again close to that area.

It shouldn't take him to long to cotton on, especially with the key word and loads of praise.
